Comparing between countries is ok nothing wrong. Maybe you can’t remember but Indo posters bragged in the past of being natural ASEAN leader with high population high GDP and some other sorts of to belittle Vietnam .

No, I remember other were calling us leader of ASEAN first, and you went mad because of it, you think Indonesia isn't fit because Indonesia - as fellow member of ASEAN - is not on VN side taking offensive against China regarding SCS.

Truth is we don't care whether or not being leader of ASEAN, it's merely people's opinion but you heavily agitated by it.

I never been to Vietnam, so I don't know the reality of Vietnam on the ground. But I read some articles about Vietnam and I already can see the potential of it.

I live and work in Indonesia, I know much about it.

What we should watch out and get inspiration from Vietnam is...

1. Vietnam is an authoritarian. Which is we already know the efficiency, focus and continue long term plan benefit from it.

2. Vietnam PISA score is extremely good for a developing country. Which is we can predict the future from it.

3. Vietnam location is very strategic, near China, especially very near with world factory. But it will depend on how Vietnam government and people attitude toward China.

4. Vietnam sent thousands of students each year to China. The same with how Taiwan and South Korea decades ago send thousands of students to USA.

5. Confucian culture. Do I need to explain it?


But since Indonesia have an early start of development, and we are in the middle of great transformation, despite one of our man was being taken down (Ahok). We still can't say whatever Vietnam is able to surpass Indonesia.

Indonesia to be world's 4th largest economy by 2045

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has expressed his optimism that Indonesia will become the world’s fourth largest economy by 2045.

He said the prediction was based on calculations from the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister, the Finance Ministry and the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas).

Furthermore, Indonesia’s income per capita is predicted to reach 29,000 USD in 2045.

According to Indonesia’s national news agency Antara, the country has phased out three 10-year stages of national development to realise its 2045 vision.

Infrastructure development, to serve as the foundation for other developmental stages, will be carried out in the initial 10 years. Several projects in the field are being carried out by the government, including power infrastructure, toll roads, airports and sea ports.

During 2025-2035, the country will focus on developing processing industry to increase added value. In this period, raw materials must no longer be sold before they are processed, at least into semi-finished products. It will put an end to the export of crude palm oil and derivative products must be produced whether in the form of cooking oil, cosmetics or others.

Indonesia will enjoy a demographic bonus in which the country will be supported by 52 percent of its productive-age population and it needs to take this opportunity for national development.

The last stage will encompass the development of the services industry, including tourism. The country is developing 10 promising tourist attractions which are expected to contribute to the nation’s economic growth.-VNA

Abt economic matter, when u rely on domestic market, its almost mean that your products can not sell to open market bcs of lower quality or higher price. (U should know that mass production will make lower price for your products, like Toyota producing car in many places to keep low price and win the market )

Bcs your domestic market is not big enough, so u can not start mass production to lower your price, so your people must buy products at higher price with lower quality. So, who is the winner here ?? Thats the rich Indonesian who produce bad products but still can make money by forcing poor indonesian buy it.

Who is the loser ? Yes, of course that your poor ppl having no choice but buying bad products at high price and become poorer and poorer.

Thats why Indonesia is a typical of failed capitalist state where the rich do nothing good but exploiting the poor to get rich as Karl marx said.
