Was Pakistan the real target behind the Afghan invasion by the US?

Well to my view USA tried to hit two targets with one arrow
Their main objective was to tackle Pakistan nukes and to destabilize it and they also planned to over throw Taliban's government because they always take a country ruled by Muslims laws as a threat

You can't be serious. Clearly you don't have any idea what the atmosphere was like in late 2001 after the attacks. Al-Qaeda (and maybe the Taliban) were the targets. No one knew who Pakistan was nor did they care. In fact, they were largely portrayed as an ally by the media. At least until things started to go south and the US decided to get closer to India because of China towards the end of the decade.

I might also add that NATO and many countries including Canada invaded Afghanistan, not just the U.S. It was not solely an American venture as you are portraying it:

I am sorry sir but it doesnt compare, while Serbia was a fraction of EX-Yougoslavia, Pakistan is a strong and powerful nation a nuclear one too.. by confronting China and Pakistan the role and threat of India will be minimized what ever the US puts in, it won't be more that now anyhow..
certainly we dont compare to them
I m saying that the Pak-China alliance of today can be related to USSR-Serbia relations although they didnt have a common interest like us neither shared a border so technically our alliance is much stronger than USSR-Serbia but can certainly be related
we can only predict future from what we have learned from Past

Once weapons were manufactured to fight wars. Now wars are manufactured to sell weapons.

It's about money, it's about the financial interests of the "Elite Group" that the "American Military-Industrial Complex" comprises ...

This time around, it's not the Communism that poses threat to the "Free World", it's "Terrorism"

This time around, they have 'created' an invisible enemy ..

And a never-ending war means An Inexhaustible Source of Income and Unlimited Financial Gains for the "Elite Group"

The Afghanistan invasion, just like the Iraq invasion, was meant to create chaos, confusion and mass hysteria (across the globe)

the usual suspects for such inputs
The usual suspects?

Khair...
I've often seen many Pakistanis contend that their country was peaceful till America's attack on Afghnaistan in 2001.
Afaik, terrorism dropped its roots in Pakistan as early as 1970s(fag end) when President ZuH imposed hardline interpretations of Islam, fuelling sectarian militancy in Pak.
Add to it the fact that Paksitan is an ally to (Sunni) Saudi Arabia, and (Shia) Iran.
Let me be very frank here, the principal external source of terrorism in Pak is none other than KSA, which funds the spread of hardline Wahhabi and Deobandi Islam in Pakistan. On this forum many memebrs and their confessions have reinforced my belief.
America being America isn't an angel, the drone attacks have (if not anything) exacerbated the situation. Not so long back I had written(and posted) a thread on the same topic.

If Pakistan and its nukes were the main target why was Pakistan given a pass at every opportunity that West had from AQK proliferation episode to OBL episode and every thing in between?

I assure you that the US did not invade Afghanistan for morphine/heroin/drugs. We have a very strict, if somewhat unsuccessful, drug policy here. Nor did it do so for Pakistan.
America has strict policies for its own people but not the other way around. CIA used the drugs from Afghanistan to fuel its operations and it's all over the internet. So don't be naive and say that USA wanted to invade Afghanistan just to kill Talis.

We didn't think that they were either until 9/11 & Al-Qaeda proved us wrong. And ever since then, the rest of the world has suffered from people who think and behave like them, including Pakistan.
And the Talis or taliban did the 9/11 right without CIA knowing about any thing?. Watch the movie "The Long Kiss Good Night" where one of the actor tells about the Word trade Center bombing in 93 and that CIA had advanced knowledge. I know you will say it's a movie but he also says that for budget increase, we will have to do a terrorist attack and kill 4000 people. Go to youtube and look for video where people proved it was an inside job and you still want to believe the bullshit your media feeds you about 9/11.
