VPN Users Risk 20-Year Jail Sentences in the US Under New RESTRICT Act

.
Right, whatever plans you may have, as long as you are choosing to stay and enjoy in evil USA, all your words here remain hypocritical. :D
How often to you stand in front of a mirror, on the verge of tears because you aren't white? Be honest.

What is the point of using VPN if you're not trying to access a banned site?
Lol - multiple uses. People use corporate vpns to log into their corporate networks, tourists use it for accessing cheaper prices, other to watch movie’s releases a day earlier on streaming platforms and so on but primarily people use vpns to protect their privacy from targeted cookies and marketing.

Off course, if accessing a banned site in your country is the only use case you are aware of then its your limited knowledge- nothing to do with vpn.

. . .
Yes - your point isn’t applicable because you are stating that all guns will be banned because murder is banned. That is not how it works.
now you are just putting words in my mouth. No one here is claiming the bill will ban all VPNs outright.

In Brief
  • The 'TikTok Ban Bill' targets more than just social media.
  • The state would be able to police all communication platforms.
  • VPNs would be included with violators facing up to $1M in fines.
A bill dubbed the ‘RESTRICT’ act that was submitted to Congress could have severe consequences for virtual private network (VPN) users in the United States.

U.S. lawmakers are widening their sights when it comes to cracking down on finance and technology.

The bipartisan “Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT)” act was unveiled in early March.

It was initially dubbed the “TikTok Ban Bill,” but has far wider ramifications. Furthermore, VPN users could face hefty fines or jail sentences under the bill.

You did in post 19. And if you did not there really isn’t ANY “huge” news other than this being a flimsy hyperbole thread by Chinese to make a fuss about VPNs.

Whether you use a vpn or find any other workaround to access a banned webpage - it will be considered a criminal act. That is that.

Covered transactions = Classified National Security data, personal data and critical infrastructure

Personal data?

. .
PID, such as social security number.

Lol. So give away your SSN over VPN will land you 20 years in jail? What's next? Give away your birthday will be a crime as well?

why don't you read the details of the proposed bill before making silly statements?
The bills has nothing to do with what an individual does on the internet. It targets businesses that collect or export state secrets or personal data to an entity owned or operated or controlled by the government of an adversary nation.
