Vishwaroopam ban: will leave India for a 'secular' land, says Kamal Haasan

Exactly. Marudhanayagam himself was upper caste. If anything its about a hindu getting converted to Islam.

What has caste to do with this? and what does tamil brahmins got to do with this?

In any case no 'intellectual' is irreplaceable. If they move out someone else will take their place. Caste has nothing to do with this either.

That is precisely the problem.

Twisting facts to suit persona;/political agenda.

The same problem with thevar magan earlier where he showed untouchables begging thevars to protect them.

and now the other way around and this guy is called a legend, for what?

. .
what is bone of contention in the movie?

can anyone post those points?

.
ok, according to wikipedia, his community is upper caste or rather upper shudras who were locally dominant land owner and ruler class or something like that. But youtube trailer of the films talks about untouchables etc. I don't understand what is going on. is there any authentic source of the story?

Edit: there are two versions of same trailer. In one trailer there is nothing about Islam. But in another version, someone has added, 'and he found new religion, Islam, peace blah blah'. But it seems second trailer has been edited by someone and inserted scenes from other movie (and some frames with woman's boobs).

Isn't it interesting that the state ruled by half baked ones, and with legendary intellectual and administrative vaccum is one of India's most prosperous states with 80% literacy?

But do u know how that 80% happened and with what cost?

TN has no water resources and whatever was there indigenously has been given away.,everyone is a slave to drinking booze menace and lot of social problems.

The progress and literacy today is a result of what MGR did in his 10 year rule and that educated a lot of people who went and educated their own people.

TN is supposed to be India's no.1 state in terms of intellectual cpaital and the Madras missed the IT revolution, many industrial complexes, universities etc etc purely because of this misrule.

today inspite of all this,TN manages to be no.3/no.4.

But then agriculture has been substituted for industries bigtime and whatever happened, happened despite a stupid government.

Upper class shudra  ...do they get reservation ?

yeah, they come under BC category and not far off from OC.

The bolded part is very true ...just take my village for example we get no electricity to irrigate most of the time properly....many have sold their farms to real estate developers...the present government is going to shut down ration shops and they are also going to stop giving free rice to the poor as the production has been hit very hard this time .

Vishwaroopam ban: Sri Lanka is reviewing the temporary ban of this movie...final decision haven't taken yet.

Movies use stereotypes to make the movie more believable. Same with advertisement. That is the only agenda visible.

The real problem is twisting of facts by the news Media and selective editing, not movies.

1. Kamal Hasan is a famous movie star.
2. He has made a big budget movie.
3. The movie has received a lot of publicity and will definitely be a hit. The content of the movie doesn't matter. It has a big star and has had a lot of promotion.
4. Some obscure people want to prove they are relevant and are trying to coat-tail on this movie's promotion.
5. The politicians also see this as a great vehicle to prove their 'secular' claims.
6. Movie star gets mad and threatens to leave the country.
7. His fans 'protest' on the internet against the banning.
8. The circlejerk continues.

Meh, if you don't want to see the movie, don't see it. Nobody's forcing you to. But don't impinge on his right to conduct business in the state just because you think it can garner you some votes

.
