‘Vishvas’: A word that threatens Pakistan

.
Definition of proper can change - Urdu was constructed by taking the pre-Islamic Khadi Boli dialect (which was based on Sanskrit) and replacing some of the original words with loan words from Persian and Arabic.
In that case the word would be biswaas not vishvaas.

.
Nothing wrong if he used this word...Urdu did not fall from sky it is mixture of sanskrit, persian, arabic etc..so one can never say vishwas is only sanskrit or hindi word..Urdu already used many sanskrit/hindi words..

A language that does not add to its vocabulary sooner or later dies...

He is 100% right..the syntax we use in Urdu is neither arabic nor persian it is 100% sanskrit based.

Nope. Your are not correct. The similarities in different languages notwithstanding, Urdu had a bit of amalgamation of Khaiboli, but it does not have 100% Sanskrit syntax.

Like I said before, it was an amalgamation of Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Pashto etc etc. And has syntax related with Arabic, Persian, Turkish including Sanskrit. It is not 100% Sanskrit.

And I am saying this with not any negative intent - it is just as it is.

There are linkages between Sanskrit and Greek as there are linkages between many other Asian and European languages.

Hell, there are linkages between native Indian American languages and Turkish language.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf

His name is Raja, which is so Indian name and represents a King of Hindu kingdom. Probably he is RAW agent planted to invade Pakistani culture.

What crap are you talking. Cant you remain civil.

I guess its easy to digest for us Indians, because we have so many different languages. But Pakistan is not that diverse in terms of language and I guess almost everybody knows Urdu there. It is also the official language of Pakistan apart from English.Besides, since the creation of Pakistan was based on the ideology of being separate from India,I think that ideology has been assimilated into their very spirit by the Pakistani people.Thats why such an uproar upon using a Hindi word.
But then, its a petty mistake, there are bigger things to worry about at the moment in Pakistan.

Yeh Anyaye hai!

Mera Dharam brasht hogaya!

Haha

Well,i remember Imran Khan using the word satyanaas in his interview and i was quite surprised by that,is pretty cool actually.

The Urdu speaking people who migrated from India, by default spoke Urdu - the name Urdu Speaking says it all. Many of those who migrated from India and not only Urdu specking populace, and also those who populated areas which were included in Pakistan, in early days, could read, write and speak Hindi. Not many now.

Mughals did not call Hindi as Urdu.

Urdu, is a derivative of Turkish word Ordu, which means Army or Lashkar. At certain stages, Urdu was also known as Lashkari language. As the Muslim Armies included soldiers from different hues and spoke different languages, a need for a common language was necessitated. It thus emerged as a common language and at certain time, a bit of Khariboli dialect also became part of it. Even now, in the modern format, Urdu includes over 7000 common Turkish words. It also have words from Persian, Pashto, Arabic etc.

I highly doubt if Akbar or any Mughal Emperor had enough IQ to proceed and make such decisions.

Obviously, when Pakistan was not there, Lahore had a sizable Hindu and Sikh population and those old structures where they lived had quotes of their scriptures. How many Pakistanis read and write Hindi now - may be almost zilch.

The Sikhs in Pakistan read and write Gurmukhi which seemingly for those who don't know, looks like Hindi - it is not. Their holy book is written in Gurmukhi, that is why they use it in Pakistan.

The IVC has its origins in Mehrgarh in Balochistan (7000 BCE to c. 2500 BCE) and more famously Harappa (3000-1500 BC).

The language Harappan people used has not been deciphered even to this date.

The Hindu Holy Book, Rig Veda and subsequent scriptures were written is Sanskrit and not Hindi. Evolution of Hindi is rather recent in history.

We are copy write holders of IVC. And I have said it so many times over here that we Pakistanis are the scions of and holders of the cradle of Indus Valley Civilization. And yes, we would win the legal argument.

Urdu also originated from the IVC area and Pakistan. We still don't know what language our ancestors spoke in Harappa, in IVC of the time.

The religion of people of IVC during Harappan era is not known - however, the religion of IVC was Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and now pre-dominantly Muslim. Majority of the people are the original occupants of this area.

I am proud of it.

But, I am also not Indian, because I am a Pakistani.

haan na .... tumhara kya masla hai.

IVC is a civilization and who occupies it now do not belong there.

Most of you have zero clue(includes Indians too) about the history of the subcontinent.

. . .
Meh! 50 years and they will forget the name Pakistan unless all Indian entertainment shows are stopped there :D

Much ado about nothing ! Just a word. Whats the big deal. Language constantly changes and evolves.

.
Nope. Your are not correct. The similarities in different languages notwithstanding, Urdu had a bit of amalgamation of Khaiboli, but it does not have 100% Sanskrit syntax.

You are wrong Urdu is fully Khariboli with amalgation of Persian or Turkish that's why Turks and Persian could not understand Urdu. It syntax is Sanskrit based only as verbs are also used in the last of the sentence.

. .
Yes it did, and UP as far as we know it is not in Pakistan.

The red region in the map is the home of Khariboli.

Pakistanis are more concerned on what makes them "not Indian" than what makes them "not Pakistani" !!

.
Baat niklegi badi door talak jaayegi....

Leave that poor guy man, It is trend now a days in India to keep Urdu names while in Pakistan people are trying typical Hindi names.Even recently I saw many bands are keeping typical Hindi name and singing Hindi classical song. Just to cite an example Jal, Aaroh etc.

Just like others he also used some of the words to bechare ko faansi pe chadha doge.
