What's new

VinFast officially entered service in North America and Europe

The problem is, vinfast sells its shit at unreasonably high price.

The vinfast fadil, a re-badged chevrolet spark, is priced from 425 million VND, or 19k USD!!

With the same amount of money in China, customers could buy the top trim of BYD e2, which is PURE ELECTRIC, 400km in range, with the state-of-the-art blade battery technology, and all the entertainment and safety features you could think of (e.g. ESP, TCS, TPMS, parking radar, cruise controls etc. ).

Come on man, this is a typical SHIT!

The car is priced at 690 million VND, or RMB 200k; but with that a big amount of money, the battery is even NOT counted in.

What's more surprising is, for an electric car launched in 2021, its NEDC range is 300km only!! This is a ridiculous number for an EV today, needless to say this is an RMB 250k EV/USD 39k! (considering the battery cost, the actual car price should be about RMB 250k at least)

Do you know what 300km means?
First, this is a number in a very ideal test situation. In the real world, you can only expect 80% to 90% of the claimed range. Let's say 85%.

Second, no one dares to charge the car till the battery is fully exhausted. Most people will become quite nervous when the battery capacity was down to 30 to 40%. Let's say 35%.

(Just ask yourself, what is the starting battery capacity when you begin to charge your phone. And please remind yourself: the difficulty to find an EV charger is much bigger than the difficulty to find a phone charger)

Ok, combining the two numbers, that means the actual usable range of this car could only be 300*85%*(1-35%)=165km.

Ask yourself, are you willing to buy such a shit: 165km actual usable range and USD 39k in price!

And also see this picture. Do you see the grey box that highlighted by me? Don't you think this is a quite weird design, because something on the chassis is not fully-shelfed by the car body? We don't see such design from a gasoline car, but why it happed to this electric car?

That's because this electric car is designed based on an existing ICE (internal combustion engine) car platform. The designers just simply remove all the ICE related parts (e.g. engines, transmissions, fuel tank, exhaust pipe etc) from the chassis, and place the battery pack on it. But since the chassis is not originally designed for the mount of a big/thick battery pack, so the designers have to make some trade-offs like this. Obviously this will make the battery pack very fragile, when a crash impact happens (especially a side impact), due to the lack of protection from car body.

And tell us, are you really happy to spend USD 39k, to buy a car with 165km actual usable range and a bad safety performance?

the price maybe high, but Vinfast will offer a very good customer service and after sale policy to all customers, thats why their sale is No 1 in VN now.

While CN cars are cheap, but your customer service and after sale policy plus the quality are terrible or even No warranty for the cars bcs they only earn $14 usd per car.

CN cars only can run in 3 years, if something wrong happen to CN cars (dead battery, broken chassis, failed sensors etc ), then customers will have to pay more money to outside workshops to fix CN cars.

GM, Wuling Make Just $14 Profit Per Car On China’s Best-Selling EV

China’s best-selling EV last year was the newly introduced Hong Guang MINI EV, which is produced by General Motors and its Chinese partner Wuling. This year, some projections suggest that the automaker might sell as many as 400,000 units of the car.

One of the biggest appeals of the little EV is its price, as it sells for the equivalent of just over $4,000 USD. This, however, means that there isn’t much room for profit. In fact, China’s Xcar reports that GM and Wuling make a profit of 89 Yuan on each example they sell. At today’s exchange rates, that’s the equivalent of just $13.73 USD.

The car is priced at 690 million VND not 69 million. However that is the price on the brochure. Nobody will probably pay that price. Preordered customers just pay 2/3 or even less. Deposit is just about 430 USD. About battery, new generation of batteries will be installed I guess when delivery is about to start.

Yes 690 million vnd.

690 million vnd, or USD 30k for a car WITHOUT battery!! Tell us, will you pay this amount of money to buy an electric car with no battery, nor a proper safety design?

With the same amount of money, people in China can buy a BYD Han: 600km NEDC range, blade battery technology (the battery with the best fire safety performance), all kinds of entertainment and safety features.

And more importantly, Han's battery pack is fully sheltered by the car body, i.e. a better protection in case of the crash impact happens.

Han's crash test performance could be watched at:

Among all kinds of tests done (e.g. side impact, small overlap front impact test etc), Han's performance is excellent: cabin space almost no deformation; the test dummy also well protected by the airbags.

690 million vnd USD 30k is Not the official price yet, for CN cars, I think only CNese will have to buy those dangerous cars. They almost have No warranty bcs each car only get $14USD profit.

If the cars got exploded and kill the drivers, then the driver only can blame themselves for buying CN cars.

VInfast EV/cars and CN cars are in different classes. VInfast will offer he best customer service and after sale policy to all customers while CN cars almost have Zero warranty bcs they only get $14 usd profit per car.

SO, pls stop comparing Vinfast EV/cars wt CN ones. If u want a cheap car wt No warranty, then buy CN car, very cheap, but no warranty when your car is exploded.
