What's new

Vietnam first metro to operate commercially by year-end (built by China)

Are you kidding me? Japan already surpassed the stage of producing chip ; they have reached the stage of producing semiconductor machineries (decades ago), that China try to import to make those chips LOL. Japan is one of a few countries in the world that can make those hi-tech machineries (and even materials). Japan's semiconductor industries is in a different league, buddy.

If China import the machinery, it means Indonesia and Turkey can also produce semiconductor @T-123456

Intel full of top PHDs all over the world cannot solve 10nm production issue and see Chinese TSMC overtaken her and now on 5nm node.

Intel is now an Indian company now. They are going through a slow death.

Malaysia Malay supremacism will be disaster for mankind.

Malay hate Chinese for good reasons that Malay cannot compete vs Chinese. The entire Chinese culture make Malay look like a loser and foolish race.

I have also read official Vietnam newspaper explain that these islands were a small price to pay for gaining back the much bigger prize of South Vietnam.

Not entirely true. It was a naval battle between South Vietnam and China. In fact in terms of tonnage, the South Vietnam navy was way much heavier and had larger warship (3 frigates & 1 convette) but still lost. South Vietnam also have United States as an ally. US Navy was just right there.

Your comment is idiot.

Japan invaded in to China in WW II, Japan troops is smaller than China's troops. Does it mean that Japan was not Aggressor in WW II ?

You are obviously not from Hanoi. The Koreans are subcontractors in the structural engineering.

Talking about subcontractors of the project ? How many ? I don't seen any France, Korean on the project site. Look like all of them is Vietnamese ...

lol... just... OK, ask yourself this: the market for the chips is far larger than the market for the machinery.

So why doesn't Japan just take all the money for itself and export both machinery and chips? Doesn't need manual labor - it's all automated.

Hmm, maybe because it's not as easy as buying a machine and pressing the start button. Maybe there's... process engineering to be done? IC design for fabless and IDMs? industrial engineering for foundries? yield optimization? it's not just plug and play? Maybe it's because other than the semiconductor equipment itself, you need a whole set of supporting industries ranging from metallurgy to chemicals to mechanical design?

Comrade Cochin, China was in a middle of a civil war and war against warlords. And Japan is not small. Imperial Japan had more aircraft carrier and battle ships then Europe combined. Their airforce were also the most powerful in the world.
Japan was just looting a burning house. And yet they did not defeat China. The KMT continue to fight from ChongQing, the wartime capital of China.

You mean semiconductor machinery companies like AMEC? Which make these 5 nm plasma etch tools? That TSMC uses?

Different skillsets are required for semiconductor machinery vs. semiconductor foundry. It's completely separate. Is the best mechanic also the best driver? Same principle.

BTW, the market for semiconductor machinery is much smaller than the market for semiconductor chips. It necessarily must be - nobody would buy the machinery if they couldn't make money with it. Knowing this, why would Japan give up money it didn't need to if it simply "moved beyond" the stage of producing chips? If it was super easy for them to compete, why wouldn't they just keep doing it? US never "moved beyond" making chips after all, they kept raking in the free money. The reality is, Japanese chips simply aren't competitive anymore outside a few niches.
Making chip is easy. ASML even show you and train you how to do it. They sell you the hardware, software, and services to use their machines. Making cheap chip at huge volumes to offset those expensive machineries is difficult because you need a consumer brand that absorb those chip. Good for u to assemble a semiconductor machinery from foreign parts, china afterall is not in the league with japan semiconductor yet, not even close

What are you trying to show with this map? I don't see much here ...
Your only quality seems to be building many subways in unknown cities of the USA without knowing the fundamentals. Learn the basics if national economy and talk. Just wishing something in dream does not come real in the morning. No metrorail in your US cities, try to grasp why not.

You can see at least three different radius of curvature. One is very near to us, the other is in the middle and the 3rd one is beyond that. I am talking about the middle curve, it is not only very sharp, but is also without a SUPERELEVATION. The outer line should be a little higher than the inner line. This is absent here.

See the photograph below to know about it. It is the difference between two elevations of a road or a railway, and the photo below shows it perfectly. One edge is elevated comparing to other edge. Why super elevation? It is because the train will derail because of centrifugal force without a properly calculated super elevation, e. I also do not like the look of the entire route. Looks very poor.

Vietnam should have sought help from Japan as Indonesia did. The Japanese are very meticulous. Engineers would always do works perfectly.
Does China need anyone to tell how to build a railway??

No, I'm not Vietnamese.

I think he mean, HSR as Inter-City Connection. Like from Dallas to Austin and other 100-200 miles city range

While it would certainly be nice to have HSR from Dallas to Austin (~200 miles) there probably isn't much of a daily demand for it. For instance there is a ~30 minute shuttle flight for the ~200 mile distance from Boston to NYC and an Acela train. They both seem to always be rearranging their schedules due to half filled seating. I doubt HSR would improve that at all.

Remember China has around 1.4Billion people in a landmass the same as the US with the vast majority concentrated in the East and almost empty ln the West.. What sounds pragmatic to you guys isn't true here as we have less population and are far more spread out. The population of Dallas is a little more than a million and Austin is less. We'd have to Eminent Domain ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eminent_domain ) 200 miles worth of straight land between the two cities for a need that probably isn't there. However luckily there is currently a relatively straight highway that probably already did just that in the 1960's that could be leveraged.

These are all waaaay beyond the reach of the bunch of low IQ...

China built a shoddy railway line in Hanoi. Pictures are there to see and evaluate. Very low quality work that Japan will never do. Japan is sincere in its approach towards other countries, China is not. It wants to get a contract anyhow.

However, the bridges being built inside China are impressive. Thanks for the video.

was Japanese , the aggressor when they invaded into China ? Yes or Not ?
