I have read a lot about the IRI's official narrative on Hizbollah vs. Israel last war, a faulty and inaccurate recollection of the short war:

• Israel won that war, just like all the other wars it has won since its birth. She achieved her objectives and established a balance of power in her favor vis a vis Hizbollah.
• Hizbollah established new facts on the ground: it's a capable military organization that can withstand superior Israeli military and can inflict pain on it.
• Hizbollah failed to protect Lebanese cities and population.

I am sure these enemies have learnt a great deal from their last exchange and have devised new tactics accordingly. But until an Arab army wins against Israel I continue to believe she will be the victor in the next war also.

I disagree... Israel does not the capacity to want it all. The fact remains that Israel is a small country with a small population. More than anything she wants to live in peace and security, just like the rest of us.

I disagree... Israel does not the capacity to want it all. The fact remains that Israel is a small country with a small population. More than anything she wants to live in peace and security, just like the rest of us.

That same Israel that you say wants peace constantly harasses it's neighbors in the old but gold "self defense" tag-line that has well worn its stay. We Americans have been dragged along Israel's fate in the Middle East and have payed the price time and time again.

Hezbollah was winning against Israel so Israel decided to bomb Lebanese cities in retaliation. Sad fact but fact none the less. That doesn't deserve any praise or recognition as some sort of viable tactic. When in doubt just kill civilians disproportionally because we are Israel, something something, Yaweh, something something Hitler, something something promised land, something something holocaust, something something we belong here.

Look, Israel has the right to exist but hitting Hezbollah when Hezbollah obviously has no intentions of attacking Israel is wrong and only adds undue fuel to the fire. Regardless of what any of us writes in this forum (which is just banter anyways). Iran is expanding and consolidating power in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon and the Israelis just continue to say this and that while doing very little.

I've said before I don't like the Israeli government at all, just as much as I don't like the Iranian government of the US and many others around the world but some things should be called out for what they are.

Hezbollah exist for one reason and one reason only, to defend Lebanon from Israel or any other invader (as recently noted with the resoundingly successful operation against ISIS and other Jihadist in the Arsal region between Syria and Lebanon). To me Israel is always looking or an excuse to attack its neighbors and needs some sort of justification whether it be some missile here or bombing there. Hezbollah wont start a war with Israel because it would be dumb.
