Verdict of 2 Americans jailed in Iran announced :

.
I have heard that if you pay money then the Islamic law forgives you and lets you go. Even if you kill someone but if you're ready to pay then that's it. I may be wrong, would anyone want to correct me?

Can these guys pay and go away like that?

Are you making fun of Islamic laws on this forum? Are you making fun of Qasas and blood money? Because I do not think it is funny to do it here.

.
Anyways as per Iranian laws they are in till 2019 now. For their crimes against Iranian sovereignty.

I have met lots of people who go for their honey moon to K2 base camp. It is a safe place. There are no mines there, no chemical warfare have been fought there, and more importantly there is no civil war there and there is no US military controlling the are as part of occupation, neither there are terrorist groups such as PKK.

Why stop at the base camp... tell me some went to the top and got married... Please keep your self-made surveys to yourself.

By the way, if people do go to marry on mount K2, then it makes it even more plausible that people go to Iran for adventure sake.

Right?

Sure. You can go to Iran and get married. But you must have visas first and not cross the mine field sneakily to do that. Also do not forget that in Iran unlike in your place perhaps, only one man can marry a woman. Two men marrying a girl is strictly prohibited by law.

I have no idea from where you got all this. I was asking a simple question and if you can't answer then don't even show your frustration...

Ok here is your answer. You kill some one in a country like Iran. The court brings in the relatives of the murdered guy. Hands death penalty to the accused after it is proven beyond any doubt that the accused is the killer. The family of the murdered person have now two options. To let state carry out the death penalty or to forgive the person. But even if one person among the family of the murdered person does not forgive then the sentence will be carried out after ofcourse several appeal stages. As part of forgiveness, the family of the murdered person in a first degree murder case can demand money whose amount is upto the family and they can demand anything. Ofcourse some would just forgive for free. Some would want millions of dollars. It is their personal choice. In the case of second degree murder and the cases where an unintentional killing has occurred the amount is set by law and is called blood money. This amount is something like 100,000 dollars now a days as per Islamic scholars. Got it now?

Personal attacks are prohibited in logical discussions. Your disregard for this just shows you and your ideas are devoid of any logic.

^^ Personal attack, with no basis.

Is that what you resort to when you have nothing substantial to say?

Stay on topic, or stay put.

I think the verdict of the two Americans is a huge blowback to the US. America has been violating international laws and pursued an aggressive hegemony towards other countries. The verdict is an indication to a larger picture than just an 8 year old sentence. It is a known fact that America has been funding and running activities to destabilise the current Iranian regime. If Americans got freed due to the media pressure, American policy towards Iran will remain consistent and will take advantage of Iran's inability to take pressure. By jailing them and sentencing them, it shows Iran will not backdown in any kind of pressure.

I am not trying to change any fact buddy. You can always point out where am wrong. Tourism figures show that the region they were trekking in is a popular tourist destination, and more and more tourists are flocking to that region. I know about PKK rebels but they don't pose any harm for toursists. And there are people out there crazy enough to take that risk. CIA or not, the Americans were not hiking in the middle of a war zone, its an area known for its mountains and valleys.

As for crossing the border, its an unmarked border, all it takes is descending from a mountain into a valley, and you are in a different country. They might be CIA, but the fact they can be genuine trekkers/hikers is not out of line either.

lol better you read the article:
Not only that, but the Department of Foreign Affairs advice is stark: "Provinces administered by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) - Dahuk, Erbil [sic] and Sulaymaniyah - appear to be relatively more stable. However, violence in these provinces persists and conditions could deteriorate quickly.

The threat of terrorism and kidnap remains high."
yep and especially the border is Disney Land.

Excellant news if they are guilty and I am sure they are. I wish Pakistan leaders had the balls to arrest americans who carry out illegal acts in Pakistan and punish them approprietly. It the r davies affair sickend me.

Long Live Iran and its people. Wish we had leaders with balls in pakistan
Balls come with independency. And not with dependency. This is the difference between Pakistan and Iran.
