I know and i agree bro, but will celebrating valentines day fix the problem of being unable to get married? Please don't bring Maulvis into this discussion because IHC banned this and not some religious scholars, plus we should stop using this prestigious title of "Maulvi" in derogatory way.
I will not get married anytime soon, maybe never due to some personal problems. But that does not mean i should celebrate valentine day just because i am not married.

So did you read the bit when I said
I am not in favour of Valentine's day

High court or maulvi all the same. Remember it was Malibu that got the kandeel balouch girl killed.
The real issues that concern out country are never addressed by the courts like arresting corrupt official like nawaz sharif and his gang. Eradicating bribery, law and order etc. But come to stupid things like Valentine's day that have little significance they are there to make headlines. In my original post I said don't ban things but educate people. No one tells you Why isn't it good? Simple answer like harms. Against Islam etc etc

Syria is banned indefinitely.
But not permanently. See if you can figure out the difference.

Lol so my point of view has no value? Immigration is a problem in your country and you banned it.
Where did you get the silly idea that the US banned immigration ? I want to see the exact US government policy that explicitly banned all immigration.

Valentines day is against norms and values of our society so our courts banned it. Stop with the double standards now.
Certainly you can ban Pakistanis from celebrating romance and courtship between men and women. What a dreary country...

You think everyone with a beard is a Maulvi? people like Abdul Qavi and Tahir Ashrafi are not Maulvis, these people are bringing bad name to Pakistan and Islam, media uses these idiots to get rating, they are tools.

I believe that beeing dressed as Santa Claus before December 6th is banned in the Netherlands, LOL.
Competition with S:t Nicodemos is not allowed.
@Penguin ?
Santa Clause (Kerstman) originates, among other things, in the Dutch St Nicolas (Sinterklaas) tradition. Here, you 'do' either Sinterklaas or Kerstman (typically Dutch: we don't wan't to have 2 occasions in December where gift are given ;-). Which doesn't mean you can't celebrate Christmas after you celebrated St Nicolas' birthday. It used to be that stores would not carry Christman displays prior to December 6th. However, that stage is behind is: commercially, Christmas selling starts well before St Nicolas (unfortunately).

I am in favor of caning Santa's appearing before December 6th. (but we have enough troubles with Black Peter, so I'll refrain from implementing this). Santa Claus, with its commercial emphasis on eating and gifts, detracts much from the underlying Christian story and values.

So what, how can you say that valentines is banned forever? you are allowed to do whatever you want privately, do you really need to show your "love" to the public? There are Public Indecency laws for a reason including in USA. Ban is a ban, you are barring people from entering your country that is a ban, the only problem is double standards.
Now you want to attack my country and society because we have different norms and values from yours? grow up and learn to debate instead of getting angry over difference of opinion.

Bro Islam has been hijacked by three parties

1. The west
2. The so called religious people who don't even know what the meaning of namaz is
3. The not so religious who pretend to be religious just to make themselves look good.
Not The fault of religion. People are people

10 pages of discussion, and nobody has even read what the IHC actually says in its judgment? :D

This discussion should begin with examining the legal basis upon which banning Valentine's Day rests.

This Valentine's day goes against Islam.
So there is no point in celebrating valentine's day.

i agree with you bro, we all will be questioned for our own deeds, all of us are wrong in our own ways.

If anyone who is angry, it is YOU, not I.

Immigration is where you allow people from another country to come into your country, set up permanent residence, and eventually become citizen, if they chose. The US is the most generous in the world when it comes to immigration and your Pakistan knows it. So just because we enhance screening from some countries, in no way does that qualifies as a blanket ban on immigration. So far, you have provided no evidence of such a policy.

As for Valentine's Day, I just find it petty that a country's judicial system would bother its mind with something as trivial as romance and courtship between men and women. You are bothered by kissing and gifts exchanges between men and women ? Then why are you living in the West where such behaviors are common ?

And this will conclude my participation in this discussion.

Well, West then should also allow call for prayers (not sermons, just the 5 times prayer call) from the loud speakers of the mosques. If we are to accept Western norms, then they should our norms too. Why does the something 'so trivial' as call for prayer bother them so much that it is not allowed?

calm down lol, i am not angry, what is the point of debating if i get angry over difference of opinion, now you should also learn to respect others point of view.
What kind of evidence do you need? trump barred people from 7 countries from entering USA, even in some cases green card holders were also deported back. Trump said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are not banned but their screening will be enhanced. Other countries like Iran, Somalia, Yemen etc... are banned. The problem is that if Pakistan had banned some immigrants like this then you people would go crazy over that, but because its USA so nobody dares to speak against it.

See my friend, this is the main problem and i gave you my explanation before but you are not trying to understand it.
Something that is acceptable in one society is frowned upon in another. Lets give you a simple example, like blowing your nose publicly is normal in USA but in some other countries it is very rude and people hate it.
Its not about men and women, are husband and wife not humans? it depends on the society and culture, it is unacceptable in Pakistani society then what problem you have with it?

Good for Pakistan
Stick to your own culture.

Take the good and reject the bad.

Valentines day is a bit of a farce nothing more than a money making event for corporate organisations.

With respect to public affection it's once again down to your own cultural norms and you shouldn't copy others especially the West where we have forgotten some sense of decency with many things. Ill give you a quick example:

In France it's perfectly normal for guys to kiss women as a form of a greeting...usually 3 quick kisses.

If you attempted this with an English woman expecting nothing more than a handshake you'd get a punch in the face.

Every culture draws the line differently some more conservative thab other's and people of understanding will respect that.

Finally certain individuals are very good at a game of verbal ping pong so I'd let them be.
