USA sceptic towards chinese economic development in Pakistan will bear fruits due to instability

I will agree with you on that. Let the claims fly, but let the assessments be real, that is all I request.
Hi,

The fact that a country such as China has committed itself to 40bn dollar project shows enough assessment carried out by both investors, advisors for this project.

Nobody smokes that money into a country where terrorism was rampant, unless you have assessed the benefits you want to reap from such projects

Can Indian economic prowess influence Pakistan? All is not about economic prowess or diplomacy. If it were US need not wage a 10 year war in Afghanistan and would have controlled Iraq from going into an abyss
Hi,

You use combination of all the factor you mentioned. There is no single best way to do all things

That commitment is great news, yes. Now lets see just how much of it actually materializes. Haven't we heard many, many claims like this before? PDF is full of such threads. Besides, when does the CPEC project build a railroad and/or pipeline over the Karakorams?

Hello,

Not sure if when really a chinese prmier came and signed the deal of 40 bn dollar project, don't really remember that.

or a country as far as Uk granting money for gwadar development and russia too interested in building pipeline.

Ofc it will take time, China may not be as efficient or experienced like US, but its development program in Africa in Gulf no doubt is in its own league.

Of course it will take time. We can assess the rate of development quite easily as infrastructure actually materializes and is then put into use for economic benefit. It would be quite evident. Evidence trumps claims, every time.

Hi,

Is there a problem with that ? I mean isn't what other countries do, like creating a hype about WMD and then nothing comes out from hole. But some failed objectives are achieved

There is no problem creating hype about the CPEC. Just be aware that there will be a downside to this hype, if it does not deliver, as the skepticism expressed in the OP suggests.

ust be aware that there will be a downside to this hype
Hi,
Dont worry the hype will not cost millions of innocent lives nor will diminish our capacity or let other players into the game.

It will only lead to foundation for a better and prosperous pakistan

A better and prosperous Pakistan is indeed a good goal, and the CPEC can only help with that.

hmm i knew it you gonna say something like that now please look at the Sea route which China use to Import it's Supplies... Plus see the Distance and time that is needed to go from Persian Gulf to China now tell me will ship run on water what is more cheap traveling 12500 km or just couple of 000 km?... After traveled 12500 km from Persian gulf to Hong Kong Shanghai or Tianjin port China still has to send it's supplies by road to Western Part of China I.e Road Rail transport which will also gonna cost them.. so now tell me it's gonna fail

That map rofl.

. . . .
i don't see any joke written on the map or something that would made one laugh

Look closer (the border on Indian side is blurry) its an amateur's work using photoshop not even an authentic map. If u still don't see the joke our sincere apologies.

It is also not rocket science that all this increases the costs and relative to alternatives not as costly.

please see above.
I do remember similar arguments when the railway lines were built to Quetta. The terrain is difficult, too must cost to pave tunnels, too much cost for transportation of material, .....Similar arguments were there to build the Kohat Tunnel as why such an expensive tunnel is being built, blah blah blah. But we know improvement of the, difficult to maintain Quetta Railway Line and the Kohat Tunnels benefited the people of Pakistan. Cost overrun is because of inflation, corruption and lack of planning as well.

Do these projects break even from a cost benefit analysis that a foreign investor would look at carefully?
