USA sceptic towards chinese economic development in Pakistan will bear fruits due to instability

Sir,

Please try to understand, unless it wasn't viable, a country like China wouldn't want to invest.

It offers alternative route ( though expensive in short term) yet safer route for oil supplies. Not to mention the amount of business activity will be generated in next few years.

It is a good opportunity for Pakistan's western undeveloped region to catch up with rest of Pakistan in term of employment generation and improving the regions outlook after a decade of lack of progress and development

Of course China is doing this for their own interests, and I understand that. But what exactly are they promising? An all-weather highway? A rail link? Pipelines? The capacities and costs of each mode can be calculated and they will come out to be only small fraction of China's needs, or even only Western China's needs, with better alternatives available. Most of the more fantastic claims come only from Pakistan, not China. It is an important project for Pakistan, yes I agree.

.
Even if stability is not an issue. CPEC connects Pakistan to wild west of China and not to the rich east. In that the benefits Pakistan will get out of CPEC is limited.

Hi,

I would suggest reading the articles on CPEC sir. As I said, It gives China access to better and secured supply line, Plus a good chance to revive business in Pakistan.

What is wrong with Pakistani cheering up? After its inception of 68 years or so, this is the first time we have received an investment at such huge scale from a neighbouring and rising super power which will in effect transfer the country's economy to some extent.

I fail to understand your reasoning and objective behind this huge mega project

Hi,
One should not overlook the silk route and the way it will connect all the countries of region together

Cheering is good. Cheering false hopes is not.

To be honest, I don't see the silk route succeeding...too many egos and conflicts involved. Chinese have to remember Asia is not Europe.

Hi,

and always being pessimistic about pakistan development can be considered as mental disorder then

One has to look at facts and assess them with logic, not emotion. For example, what is this "secure supply" that you refer to? Supply of what? Using what? Let us talk some numbers first.

Hello,
Patience is the virtue here , A country that was in drugs for last two hundred years and that have achieved unprecedented growth in last 30 years is no means easy task

Please re read my previous posts with you

Let's start afresh, or post up a previous post of yours that addresses the question that I just asked: What is this "secure supply" that you refer to? Supply of what? Using what?

You can control yourself but not others...it is commendable that China has seen so much economic growth, but expecting the same efficiency in building a network of countries is a bit naive.

Hi,

Sir why dont you read some articles and road map Of CPEC?

And what seems to be your issue with CPEC here? I fail to understand your objection to it

Hi,
Dont worry thats what rising superpowers do, to increase their influence either through economic prowess or diplomatic channels. I can see China doing both

I have read that material The CPEC is more hype than fact, at this point in time.

Hi,
So? Is nt that what all other do? to attract investment, to market the project.

Yes, projects of such colossal scale require time, hard work, dedication, commitment etc. The long term benefits of this project no doubt are worth all this setbacks in short term. its very natural

I will agree with you on that. Let the claims fly, but let the assessments be real, that is all I request.

Can Indian economic prowess influence Pakistan? All is not about economic prowess or diplomacy. If it were US need not wage a 10 year war in Afghanistan and would have controlled Iraq from going into an abyss
