USA sceptic towards chinese economic development in Pakistan will bear fruits due to instability

In the past 68 years history of Pakistan, no. of mega projects were planned and announced but the foreign powers including America forced Pakistan to roll back all what was initially done. America must not adopt a positive approach towards Pakistan, otherwise, in the next decades America will also suffer form the negative results of its inadequate foreign policies.

Nah man, Murrika is a horrible place to live. Canada is the best! :D

Investment is good, but investment with a sovereign guarantee of 18% return is either very good, or very bad, depending on who pays.

Western governments give out billions/yr in corporate welfare (General Motors&Chrysler were given billions of taxpayers money in cash plus tax holidays costing American and Canadian taxpayers billion's Part of that money was used by both corporations to put up plants in Mexico) to keep corporations from moving to different country or simply shutting down. I have seen state governments in United states sell 100 million dollars Manufacturing plant for one dollar, to keep people employed. How exactly is that any different from paying 18% to bring 1000s of badly needed jobs and not to mention long-term infrastructure.

Investors look for biggest bang for their buck and I can't blame Chinese for doing the same. Pakistan is open for business to anyone who wants to invest and if Chinese are doing it more power to them.

Here is an example of one of many Chinese investments in United states

China’s first high-speed train in the US will connect Los Angeles to Las Vegas - Quartz

China has signed its first high-speed railway contract in the US, days ahead of President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Washington D.C. A consortium led by state-owned China Railway Group and US company XpressWest will set up a joint venture to build a 370-kilometer (230-mile) high-speed line linking Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

China’s leading group on financial and economic affairs announced the deal at a press conference on Thursday (Sept. 17), and said construction will begin next September. The project comes after four years of negotiation and will be supported by $100 million( US taxpayers will give $100 million to the company as thank you) in initial capital, though the source of that capital was not specified, nor was the project’s expected cost and competition date. But 21st Century Business Herald and other Chinese papers reported the project will cost $12.7 billion and take three years.

The Las Vegas-Los Angeles project will bring new technology, manufacturing and construction jobs to the region, a Chinese official said at the press conference

Now please feel free to tell me that's Chinese investors will not make a dime out of this project. Keep in mind they already have $100 million given to them, before even the shovels in ground. I am willing to bet, they will take home a lot more than eighteen% return on this alone.

because this is an important project for us, we need to and have to make hype out of it because then we can present image to the world of a sustainable country

Reality beats hype, every time, time after time.

Thank you for that insight, but what does a Chinese HSR project halfway across the world have to do with CPEC and this thread?

everytime CPEC project hyped, it makes me think of few years ago, when pakistani engineer created engine which claimed to power with water.

I hope CPEC doesnt turn out be another such claim
