RAWALPINDI :Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan has said that the Constitution of Pakistan does not allow any person who suffers from any sort of permanent mental or physical illness to be the President of the county.
He also called upon the PPP that it should announce new general elections in the country after accepting the governments failure on several fronts including governance and defence of the country.
He expressed these views while addressing a rally, in connection with the partys mass contact movement, at Liaqat Bagh here on Sunday.
The JI Chief said that the incumbent government should inform the masses about the realities behind the memo issue.
He claimed that President Zardari had become ineligible to continue the office of President after his alleged involvement in memo saga. The JI chief also advised Prime Minister Gilani to seriously consider the punishment under the article 6 of the Constitution before accepting the responsibility for the memogate scandal. He advised the PPP not to confuse the nation about the Presidents ailment and bring forth the facts. The situation in the country is alarming and called for a serious approach by the ruling party, he added. Munawar Hasan said that the PPP governments ally, the ANP, had swallowed the railways and was now planning the destruction of the PIA.
He said that the CIA and MOSAD were involved in the attacks at the military check posts, the GHQ and the Mehran Base. Those attacking the ISI vehicles and offices were not the Taliban. It was the CIA as the US wanted to punish this country for its defeat in Afghanistan, he added.
At the same time, he said, Washington wanted to destroy Pakistans nuclear assets and establish Indias supremacy in the region to contain China.
The US was also helping India to crush the Kashmiris freedom movement.
The JI chief said that immediately after the Abbottabad operation, Pakistan should have pulled out of the US war. He said that the rulers cowardice in this regard had emboldened Washington to attack Salala check posts resulting in the martyrdom of 24 Pak soldiers.
He said it was high time for the government to openly announce severing all ties with the US. Syed Munawar Hasan was sure that the JI would win majority in the next elections giving a surprise to the media.
The first point of the JI manifesto, he said, was to build Pakistan a model state like the Madina. The country needs to be driven out of the mire of corruption, lawlessness, price hike and power crisis and the nation must be put on the path of obedience of Allahs and prosperity. He alleged that US and NATO were involved in the Mehran Base attack. He said that the people might not vote for American and Indian agents, which are busy in undermining the concept of Jihad in the name of terrorism.
He said that media should not play the role of anyones mouth organ, to let down JI or else they would meet a surprise.
He said that the American slavery had sabotaged the peace of the country and his party would not allow the government to act upon the dictation of outside forces. Munawar Hassan also urged the government for permanent suspension of Nato supply line. He said that like Shamsi air base other bases should also be vacated from American control forthwith.
Once JI come into power, nation will get rid of all the problems being faced by them, he claimed. The sensitive places of the country, he said, were also not safe from the NATO and American attacks.
