F-35 has a real good chance with IN but its hopes for service with IAF are near non existent with IAF already committing to FGFA/PAK FA and AMCA- no need for another separate 5th gen platform. Added to that timefram, unless US is willing/able to seriously pi$$ of the countries with existing orders and deliver IAF F-35s before everyone else then even with capacity of 30+ AC/year, IAF has little chance of inducting this bird before 2020.

And here I thought India was the world's largest democracy. You lost all credibility in my eyes after you used third world as a derogatory remark. If you truly had any idea what you were saying you'd know that third world related to non-aligned nations during the Cold war as opposed to the "first" and "second" world of countries aligned to US and USSR respectively. It just so happened the third world, non aligned nations also happened to be mostly African and less developed countries so became synonymous with poverty and famine.

Come into the real world and you will see how absolutely laughable your comments are. The fact that the Indian military is the most apolitical orginization around is neither here nor there given you clear ignorance and flat out stupidity.

The F-35 is a pretty bad aircraft in terms of performance to cost ratio. However, it would be cool to get a few and then let Russia take a look at the internals and do adversary training against them.

As reported in both mainstream and aviation focused media, that the US government has been pushing the 5th Gen Fighter the F-35 to the Indian Air Force. This is after recent success with the C-17 and the 737 based P-8I been sold to India.

With India rejecting older generation U.S. aircraft -- the Lockheed's "Block 70" F-16 and the Boeing F-18 Hornet (including the Super Hornet) with New Delhi shortlisting European defence firms Dassault and Eurofighter for the contract for 126 jet fighters.

Despite, India having embarked on the path to co-develop its own 5th-Gen fighter, based on the Russian Sukhoi T-50 prototype, with New Delhi and Moscow inking a $295-million preliminary design contract (PDC) last December.

In a nine-page Pentagon report said the US Defense Department was continually looking for ways to expand defence cooperation with India, including joint development of arms as the military-to-military relationship matures.

Try is all they can do ,they wont succeed to stuff F-35 down our throats , F-35 is a failure for its cost and maintainance and not suited for Indian needs , PAK-FA beats F-35 by a big margin on all counts , so all we can say to uncle Sam this time around is "Thanks , but no thanks"

As far as i know India signed agreement for FGFA not PAK-FA.
Both China and Russia are SCO and strategic military partners they don't need to counter each other.
