If the United States hands over the equipment to Afghans, it will lead to a bloody civil war.

The soviets also left their equipment in Afghanistan whilst also supplying the Afghan Government with an additional stockpile of over 2,000 SCUD-B ballistic missiles. The result of this was that the Afghan ended up fighting a horrific civil war between 1989-1994, leaving around 50,000 Afghans dead and totally decimating their own nation. And, this happened prior to the rise of the Taliban.

Today, the same can very easily happen again and worse, that leftover equipment could be used against Pakistan by Afghanistan. Therefore, Pakistan Armed Forces want to make sure the equipment is all accounted for. It has to be either shifted out of Afghanistan, destroyed in Afghanistan or handed over to any other country other than Afghanistan.


Final point I would like to make:

Thanks India for pumping billions into Afghanistan. You get nothing in return. Goodbye.

Well! in this report they didn't mentioned anywhere that US would give its equipments to pakistan?? in this report they are just talking about that how should we take these equipments back to US...which route or path they should use n how much bill they would have to face...nothing mentioned about giving anything to PAK ??? is there any other source??

hmmm ok, never looked at it that way, so US wants to arm us so we could fight WoT after they leaave, they want to stabilize the region as they know it is important to get Pakistan on board, but yet they cant make Karzai think the same way as he has his own strategy to follow post 2014

US has an old tradition of doing that----what about the budhbir air base---how about the electronic surveillance planes that we got from the u s before the 71 war----did you know that aircraft could fly upto 80000 ft in the air with space suit----.

. The u s gives in its own ways---if pakistanis had any brain and any intelligence---they would have learnt by now how to milk it---.

There will be a lots of useful stuff that will be given to pak military---it will be much needed stuff----not all high end stuff is good stuff---.

Think about it this way---what is more important---a simple solid brick in the foundation or a shiny plate of marble on the floor---. I would rather have the american light and heavy transportation vehicles anytime of the day---.

No dear its not so Pak do have very strong evidence of indian involvement in Baluchistan but that check will be cashed at appropriate time. Because anyone familiar with International Relations Knows that it is not only hard proof that matters but factors like ones need and greater cooperation in others domain.
