According to experts, the relations between the two nations have improved in the last year or so, especially after Imran Khan’s meetings with Donald Trump.

Talking to Reuters, a State Department’s spokeswoman told that the program “provides an opportunity to increase bilateral cooperation between our countries on shared priorities”.

We want to continue to build on this foundation through concrete actions that advance regional security and stability.

Under the program, 66 Pakistani armed forces officers will also go to study different courses at U.S. military education institutions, such as the U.S. Army War College and the U.S. Naval War College.
Good. Get all F16s upgraded to V Standard, Get AIM 120Ds, get AHIZs to Pakistan which are stored in the Storage and May get second hand F16s (from Jordan or Norway) and upgrade them to V Standard

Sure. Would you also like some ketchup on it?

The Americans are having a heart attack on providing old F-16s and you think they are going to provide us with their newer F-16s?

All that will cost more then $2 Billions. Yes, there is always give and take, this is where teams from both side will sit and work it out. Pak can always walk away from it, but then why place hurdles and make things difficult for both sides ?

Have cordial relationship, like one of the poster suggested in one of the above post, why annoy US Establishment / POTUS unnecessarily ?

LOL at cordial relationship. Are you people living in a different dimension? You cannot have any sort of relationship with a backstabber that wishes your demise.

Well our response should be "First reimburse us with the billions of dollars of AID you promised us for fighting alongside you in the Afghan War and still owe us.....Then we'll talk about this new offer. Otherwise, shove it where the sun don't shine" :)

Just be careful in what is being asked as payback. Not hard to do: Pakistanis have a loooong experience dealing with Americans in security arrangements.
Sir G, the history of PAK-USA relation tell us that Pakistan always succumbed to US demands.

this aid will be conditional and may damage our national interest

Just send our zulus and call it the day.

If USA want to improve relationship, they will have no issue with sale of Old/used/surplus F-16s to Pakistan. As far as new F-16s are concerned, I have NOT heard anything regarding those.

15 Bell AH-1Z viper attack helicopters not Chinese Z10s
