US to open consulate in Balochistan

This news is old almost about over a month old.

Anyway there is some truth in it. US earlier few years back (during Mush time) tried to have one such Consulate in Bajaur Agency too but the information got leaked and this one is also not without some truth.

in,sha,ALLAH pakistan will never allow them coz this area is not peace full sooooo go far from there :D

Resources and passage of trades...too many watchdogs. Gawadar, oil terminal to sea, natural resources, watch neighboring activities. Plus no doubt if USAID is funding projects in Baluchistan then they have right to audit every single penny, before it lands in corrupt leaders and bureaucrats.

believe what you will - What I am saying did not come down from sinai - I am making the best case that I think reflects reality - you don't have to accept it.

What's really interesting that the Pakistan government has either accepted or has been forced to accept granting a consulate in Baluchistan to the US? What commercial interests does US have there?

Pakistanis rightly seek Indian consulates on the Pak-Afghan border as spy dens, what then are US consulates in Balouchistan? Has any member of the Majlis asked the foreign office to explain?

To my thinking, Pakistan is in grave danger from the US - yes, I support relations with the US, but what is the substanc eof these relationships that is what I think we are missing in talking abojut relations with the US -- Pakistan federal govt interior minister R. Malik has said "Enemies of China are Enemies of Pakistan" - will Pakistan betray brother China? For how many F16's and how many frigates?
Pakistanis should be concerned and take steps to prevent Pakistani politicians and any others from enabling betrayal of ourselves and brother ally.

Well the decision to grant the permission to US is definitely interesting. Now here is one solid reason why I think India's not materially helping the Baloch rebels - The US wont want India to screw up its WoT by undermining its relations with Pak. Moreover the Balochu Jundallah isnt in Iran's good books either, so India wont want to annoy two parties.

And you are underestimating Pakistan's ability to play both sides. It has easily managed to get the best out of its relations with both the US and China. And I see no reason why it cant in the future. China may be militarily stronger than ever before but US is still on Pak soil and the PA is playing its cards well.

I don't understand why people are blaming the gov.t PPP or Zardari for this.

The consulate can't ne opened without the consent of the PA. There is no doubt about that.

If you want to blame someone, blame the army for opening the consulate.

Sorry, it was in some issue of New Statesman last year. I read it in a british library in UK. I didn't jot down the issue number (who does?) but they showed locations of most US bases including ones in Japan, Germany, Middle East, one in Baluchistan (for Iran pressure purposes).

Surprisingly US has no bases in India ( or there were none shown in The New Statesman).
India was willing to give bases to US after 9-11, for whatever reason. But US base in India is too much drama, and does not accomplish a thing. India wants to be an equitable partner, not junior partner with USA, so that could also be part of equation.

They are on their track to capture Balochistan as it is the richest province of Pakistan with natural coal, gas and deep see port (Gawadar) and America is keeping eye on this year from a long time......now slowly slowly they are entering into this place.
They already has mentioned in their govt. website Balochistan as separate country not as the province of Pakistan..........was reported by Kamran Khan on Geo........which was later corrected.

Pakistan is fighting for its existence and bearing the brunt of its
ideological blunder of promoting political Islam to tackle ethnic
diversity, the time has come for us to learn our lessons. The foremost
lesson is that dissent can only be addressed by addressing the root
causes which are often emanating from exclusion and discrimination.
Use of ideological engineering and tactics of coercion and
intimidation will not strengthen the federation but weaken it. Another
lesson which needs to be learnt and particularly by democracy skeptic
Punjabi middleclass, is that an ethnically diverse country needs
democracy.. Ethnic diversity needs consensus at every step and the way
it has evolved in Pakistan the need to negotiate and renegotiate the
relationship terms between the provinces will increase with time. Only
democracy provides the framework as well as the forum to do so. Only
democracy provides the mechanism which can tap the voices of the
provinces and project them for discourse at the national level.

ISI needs to play more games.

Seriously can anyone explain to me what do the CIA want to do in Pakistan?
And what do the ISI want to accomplish in Pakistan?

Personnally i just want Karachi to create all the Skyscrapers that are U/C and become a well known city across the World. And plus we can afford to do that right now.
