well obviously you do need a lesson, since you are just displaying ignorance....

a competitive and comparitive (dis)advantage isnt always a bad thing from a consumers point of view at least...free markets work like that. It puts pressure on Pakistani producers to be more competitive (production & pricing)

there are things Pakistan produces or grows which cannot be found in China, and those are being exported....

we dont have the same protectionist policies which your country is more notorious for....for better or for worse.


also remember that as China moves towards capital intensive export-led industries, wages will also go up. The Chinese policy makers are probably smart enough to know that demand for increased wages would have to be heeded to --in the interests of avoiding unrest and of course in the interests of keeping those skilled workers at home (rather than migrating abroad)


so again, do more research and read a bit more before making silly and ignorant remarks......you'll do yourself the bigger service

another gud news.... less US aid means less US influence. with no other possibility, we will hopefully learn to exploit our own resources.

Of course it would be best to develop local resources using indigenous expertise and technical know-how, such as advanced metallurgy, process control, project management, financing of large-scale projects, trained manpower, infrastructural support etc. etc. I am very hopeful that all these can be created within a short time for specific projects.

After all, look at the great successes of Thar coal gasification project, the huge Sainduk project, and harnessing the full hydroelectric potential of the mighty Indus river. With less US influence, all sorts of new partners will fall over themselves trying to beat a path to the corridors of power in Islamabad, InshaAllah!

I do not intend to derail the thread, however I'll provide you my 2 cents.
The pakistani administration has time and again sacrificed Economic prudence because of some phantom security issues, the results are there for all to see. If you feel a heavily lopsided economic relationship, (which has resulted in tremendous job losses and business shutdowns) is somehow a sign of everlasting friendship and not a failure of your Economic policy making authorities well then more power to you.

I live in the US, no civil war here, most don't even know or care what is happing in Pakistan. It's a non-issue. Wouldn't they be suprised if you showed up here running down the street yelling about a civil war, probably lock you up in a asylum. How are things where you live? You ARE having a civil war!

those are internal issues; not ones created by the Chinese....in fact, on power cuts they are trying to help (they have an interest in it as well since they would gain too)

it goes down to our policy making; the point is, trade imbalances do not determine or dissuade friendships. Trade takes place for a reason.

on job losses -- just remember that a lot of indian jobs are in jeopardy as talks of ending out-sourcing of jobs seems to be given a bit more attention. World is still recovering from a contractionary economic period.

it's silly to attribute Pakistan's economic issues to trade balance or imalance with China; security issues (leading to wary investors) and of course the demand-supply gap in power production play a big role here. To some degree we have and have-not a locus of control over these issues.

Moreover, Chinese-Pakistani ties are time-tested. I see them strengthening; the countries will work towards building on them when and where fit. Being neighbour countries, the advantages outweigh a lot of other things. We do have share some common enemy(s)
