How easily you like to forget that it was USA that helped start Pakistan's nuclear program, and the real reason there is no need to go after its nuclear weapons is that they are the best guarantor of stability in a volatile region. They have ensured at least 50 years of relative peace, with only limited skirmishes and no open war. Thus, having both Pakistan and India locked in a MAD situation serves US interests, and therefore there is no need for USA to destabilize either side in this regard.

Pakistan's worst enemies are overpopulation and a failing economy, and they are both INTERNAL.

I knwo you didn't agree before. but a weaker military will succumb under Politicla government. Political parties are for sale as these are dynastical parties. If the top leader is compromised, then rest will follow. But its harder to buy Cheif unless like P. Mushi situation.

If US cna control both, they can roll back our nuclear program, and then China can be contained. Gulf can also be more under pressure bcz of weaker Pakistan.

Imagine, if Iran is stronger and be freind with Gulf, do they allow any disturbance, in their neighbourhood? So US need weaker states for arm twisting.

In fact, I can tell you that is easier for USA to get what it needs from the military than from the messy politicians, a situation that suits the military just fine too.

(Please note that I am NOT saying that the above is wrong or right, but that is just the way Pakistan's cake has been baked into that final form and will not change easily or ever.)

Now, coming to the nuclear program, the "rollback" concept is just another manifestation of the tripe sold to the nation to keep it afraid of the big bad yahood-o-hanood wolves all around the sacred Land of the Pure, so that the abysmal social development situation is fully justified for the internal audience. Pakistan's nuclear weapons are an element of stability in the region, and USA actually has encouraged better command and control of them to ensure this stability.

There are many reasons for that. But that is off topic.

In fact, I can tell you that is easier for USA to get what it needs from the military than from the messy politicians, a situation that suits the military just fine too.

May be, as idk. Perhaps it si green card, aid or equipment.

Pakistan's nuclear weapons are an element of stability in the region, and USA actually has encouraged better command and control of them to ensure this stability.

US should help Pak conventionally and economically as if disparity grows bet Pak/India, the war will go nuclear quickly.

Also, you have to accept that US deals Pak differently in normal circumstances, but totally opposite when there is a nuclear war threat (short lived mediator).
