US starts assembling Turkey's first ever F-35

no you know what they can do with windows, with phones routers and so on.. and if you have a real complex thing its easier to hide your backdoors and shure they will have backdoors, that means I personally think in this time of complex source codes they can let any plane they build fall down like a stone.. and you can build it in hardware (cpu for excample) and software

PM said that F-35 would come in 2018 rather than 2021.. What did he mean?

ISTANBUL: Turkey has given its defence ministry the mandate to buy a further 24 Lockheed Martin F-35 aircraft, Defence Minister Fikri Isik said in an interview with broadcaster A Haber on Tuesday.

The Undersecretariat for Defence Industries said last week that Turkey had decided to order a second batch of the aircraft. Two US officials familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, had told Reuters that would comprise 24 jets.

Turkey expects to take delivery of the first batch of Lockheed Martin F-35A jets in 2018.

. . .
You expect Turkey to assert its national interests against US interests using a handful of US-made fighters?

Of course. Think of the delicious irony.

The only good things about the JF-17
-Its produced by Pakistan
-Good replacement for F-7's

Everything else about it is shit

Getting two out of three right isn't bad at all. But do yourself a favour; don't say #3 out loud on this forum. They might spot that you're a false-flagging Indian.

. .
We need that shit ASAP. The whole region is unstable.

What for do someone Need a sitting duck like F-35 ??

Better buy some air superiority fighter craft.

F35 is superior.

. .
Norway has already received F 35.
And the Netherlands. The F-35 has qualities in its own right, which make it superior within the same generation, and it also is an enabler for more effective use of legacy aircraft.

A Turkish air force question/issue I read about in local press, in view of the fact that it is still by and large consisting of manned aircraft:

Replacement of sacked Turkey air force pilots is difficult

Turkey has made great effort to replace the pilots in the air force fired after the failed coup. A call to former pilots to report, almost yielded no response, reporting officers within the army.

The big clean-up operation by Erdogan was deployed on July 15 after the coup attempt, it took about 350 pilots their jobs.

The Air Force had an important role during the coup. Fighter jets and helicopters were involved in bombing of the parliament building and threatening the plane with Erdogan.

According to Turkish media are hundreds of pilots between 2010 and 2015 the army abandoned eligible to replace the dismissed soldiers. Only a handful has expressed the wish to return.

I don't see how this represents bias. It is a very factual report. Besides, it is very a valid question/concern, considering how much time and money it costs to train good pilots and keep them cutting edge. It is directly related to maintaining air force combat effectiveness, an air force that is part of NATO and as such has both national and international obligations to fullfil.

Just consider this, from September 19, 2016:

"On July 15, 2016, members of the Turkish Air Force and Army attempted to topple Turkey’s elected government by coup. In the wake of the failed coup, over 80,000 civil servants have been suspended, including over 100 admirals and generals. Among those, an astonishing 274 Turkish Air Force pilots have been discharged — comparable to the entire annual production of fighter pilots in the U.S. Air Force. Owing to the purges, Turkey now faces an acute fighter pilot shortage, with the number of F-16 pilots dropping from a healthy (by Western standards) 1.25:1 pilot-to-cockpit ratio to a paltry 0.8:1 following the discharges. A 1.25:1 ratio is the accepted norm for sustainment in numerous air forces."

If you have some 110 F-5s, 50 F-4s and 240 F16s to man (and that's just the 400 combat aircraft out of some 668 total aircraft), then 350 pilots out of the game is a serious bloodletting. Who would TAF rather have fly the expensive new F-35: relative rookies, or its very best?

It has been nearly a decade since the F-5s were phased out of service with the only exception being the 134th Akrotim FİLO, publicly known as Turkish Stars who perfom aerobic demonstration.

The pilot requirement is being fixed with various ways. Former combat pilots whom started flying passenger aircraft at Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, AtlasJet, OnurAir, Anadolu Jet are being reactiveted to the service of Turkish Air Force with providing the same military/social status they were supposed to have by now if they did not quit the service.

Another way is that by a KHK (Executive Order enforced as Law), military academies will take students from all grades at civil universities at certain programs.

On short run these solutions won't be a painkiller however one good side is that from what I heard almost every newly appointed officer to Personnel Resources, Training and Doctrine branches are the very same soldiers that the TSK had a long tradition of producing them proudly before AKP-Gulen infiltration.

So, the training will be even better than it was by the future (4 years at max).

First squadron will be composing of instructor pilots so that they will gain the necessary skills to train new pilots or young pilots that have certain amount of flight hours on F-16. Military would never full the box of F-35 with topgun pilots except for the first squadron.

United States press is matured , only the EU press doesnt want to see the reality, when it comes to Turkey, India, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
