Alleged US spy killed in Pakistan
Sat, 09 Jun 2007 11:46:49
Suspected militants in Pakistan's tribal area have shot dead a man accused of spying for US forces operating in neighboring Afghanistan.
The body of 30-year-old Rahim Khan was found late Friday near the village of Alikhel, 12 kilometers west of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan, a security official told AFP.
He had been shot in the head and chest. A note found near his body reads that he was an "American spy and has met his fate", the official said.
Pro-Taliban militants have decapitated or shot dead several pro-government tribesmen and Afghan refugees in the lawless region in recent months on charges of spying for US forces.
