4 US Soldier KIA now, with 10 Niger Border Patrol. 1 US serviceman was originally Missing in Action is now found dead.

The 12 men A-Team and the local border patrol was ambushed by 50 ISIS fighter near Mali Border. The A-Team conduct 29 previous patrol without incident.

Well, this is a UN Mission, in my recollection, Pakistan participate in many more UN Mission than US or most other countries does since UN inception, does that mean Pakistan also like to poke into someone else's business decades over decades and started to make a mess?

It's about a country's requestion, US military can either dispatch troop or not dispatch troop to that country, and if that country requested and approved US present, then who are anybody to say this is blah, blah, blah. In this case, you are the one that mess with someone else's internal affair.

As for the topic, RIP soldiers, fighting vermin like this. I presume they are part of ongoing operations by AFRICOM to eliminate various militant outfits.
I believe one of the soldiers who died was the one at the centre of the Trump contravene i.e. when he called the mother and told her that he knew what he was signing up for.

The story of French dirty tricks in Africa is a looonnngg one! What I do know is that France has deliberately destabilised the whole Sahel to justify their troops presence. Fyi,Mali is a major gold producer as is Niger though uranium is more important. Its already been proven repeatedly Jean Fraude is behind Boko haram as part of an oil grab involving Chad and Cameroon against Nigeria. Without cheap African raw materials France would be another Romania if not Moldova!
The US,not wanting to appear sitting this chapter of GWOT on the sidelines of course must pitch in and occasionally suffer KIA. There are stories this was actually an Israeli specop but I don't have the contacts that side top confim it,tbh.
