That Musharraf plan, what India did was undo all trust in Pakistan, Kashmir and the world in India's intentions..

In current situation it is trap for Pakistan as they have realized that they are losing leverage over Pakistan rapidly and even Arabs will not be able to have leverage like before if current situation prevails. Pakistan should avoid these type of options now as it will be only beneficial to US, India and it's allies, remember what they did with Palestine after they make deal with Israel and Palestine.

I don't know why people here are criticizing the US report when the actual Musharraf-Manmohan talks were done by the Pakistani military leader GENERAL Musharraf and his counterparts in India were both BJP and Congress Prime Ministers. The US report is nothing new, except it does show how the American leadership sees that India is on the wrong side! The use of the word 'untenable' is a strong word of warning to the Modi regime.

Back in mid-2000s, there was a lot of hope in the region. There were and there will ALWAYS be angry elements on both sides when such grand ideas are being considered. But vast segments of Kashmiris were on board the Musharraf-Manmohan plan and I believe that's the best option.

Short of a devastating war, what are the options for Pakistan and India? Right now, Pakistan has the upper hand because of Modi's follies of provoking the Kashmiris, China and Pakistan at the same time. But Pakistan's hopes largely rest on China's real, strong and consistent support. In past, as we had seen, China's usual positions were the diplomatic statements like 'let's all get along'. But will China walk the talk now? If so, then how far?? If China doesn't and IF Modi's gamble of repeating the Israeli model in IoK wins then it's a huge loss for Pakistan.

So, yes, talks need to resume by going back to the Musharraf-Manmohan dialogues but Manmohan and Vajpayee were gentlemen and visionaries compared to the Fascist regime currently ruling New Delhi. I think we should know within a year or so how this, as the US report says, 'untenable' situation in IoK and the region pans out.

We sure are living in interesting times!!

Musharf and Vajpai talks were not in anyone's preasure but that was great and real honnest initiative by real honnest and patriot like musharf and for tht he don't need to build, any temples on islamabad?
