This system provides considerable situational awareness of military related movements in real time on the ground. JSTAR system has enormous coverage.

Now coming towards firepower; US can bring so much firepower in to a single theater to eliminate it that it is difficult to imagine.

US have developed large arsenal of both nuclear and non-nuclear EPW weapons which can render underground facilities useless in seconds.

No chance dear no chance at all, Pakistani nuclear facilities are spread all acreoss pakistan. Even there are multiple stotrage sites for fissile material, triggers mechanism and missile system. It is almost impossible to destroy even half of pakistani nukes.

A full scale attack on pakistan's nuclear sites will have serious international concequences involving china and oother regional countries.

I will say the same...US forces cannot TAKE Pakistani nukes, but they certainly KNOW where they are and do have the capability to destroy the Storage Sites to some extent.

Can you please or any one else elobrate what is meant by neutrilization of pakistani nukes. here are some possibilities.
1. US and its allied countries destroy all Pakistani nukes (100%). ? Ask your self is it possbile.

2. US take away pakistan fissile materials and triggers. IS it possible with nukes stored on multiple locations.

3. US send their ground troops and take control of all nuclear facilites and storage locations? (how) can any one please tell.

4. What happens if pakistan still retain some dozen nukes at some undisclosed location and retaliate back.

5. Does US precisely know all our nuclear facilities and storage sites.

With the limited number of troops in Afghanistan and the topography of the Pak-Afg border. Air-superiority is quickly nullified. Remember when the Americans just about levelled Tora Bora? The AQ leadership didn't even seem to notice, they kept on issuing video tape after video tape. Even today, the cave networks are intact and still in use with the terrorists.

Tora Bora was just the begining of testing a new war doctrine. (believe me when I say this)

And if nothing significant happened in Tora Bora then why so many terrorists ran away from this region?

Point is that humans are susceptible to shock factor. Powerful weapons can demoralize people on ground very easily, regardless of them being seasoned warriors or not.

I saw Legend's post and it all boils to the same. The radiation cloud will quickly engulf the region (in the wind direction determined by the prevailing wind system). This means it's a 50/50 scenario. There's a chance the US may end up packing up from Afg quicker than expected to save their boys from radiation contamination. Then there's the chance that the wind may blow the nuclear dust cloud over India. That would pose serious problems for the US. India as a booming economic powerhouse is an important country to keep happy.

Good point. Certainly enlightens some potential risks of this hypothetical scenario.

However, in a worst case scenario, all kinds of (possible) issues are taken in to consideration and new tools are invented to address them. The beauty of having immense resources.

So the 'nuking the nukes' theory wouldn't fare well.

Infiltration is the only course of action that even has a remote chance of success.

No one will try to 'take away' our nukes. Do you think that Americans are stupid?

US can nuetralize all underground storage facilities in Pakistan. Our nuclear weapons will be rendered useless with essential components gone or destroyed.

No need. Just send smart weapons in to entrance points of underground facilities. Repeat, if required. Job done.

We are talking about full-scale war here. US will ensure that Pakistan is crippled beyond recovery due to the danger it poses.

We do not have credible second strike capability. No targets on land are safe.

Their is another issue; our nuclear weapons are in 'dismantled state' (correct me, if I am wrong here) and not in 'deployment state' like in Russia and USA. Now under enormous firepower, how will you expect to assemble these weapons on short notice?
