What's new

US Naval Officer spent 5 days onboard an Indian Navy warship, INS Delhi

India don't need any big imports to make Blue Navy.

In 3 years, we will be inducting some great modern warship and CBG. 3 Destroyers, 4 Frigates, 2 Aircraft carrier, 2 Nuclear Submarine CM and BM. Most of them are home made.

We only bought/buying 10 Scorpean submarine, 1 Aircraft carrier, 1 Nuke Submarine, 12 P8i, 45 MIG 29, may be 40 F-35 for 4th ACC INS Vishal, etc. These are only 25%. 75% we are making on own. Blue Navy is inevitable by 2020.

Well that was one officer's impression, however, if I ever wanted the Indians to not improve, I could not ask for a mentally better conditioned set of respondents than those on this this thread. "Everything is Alright" is good when dealing with emotionally fragile people.

LOL @ pissed off Indian members. I didn't realize that when I will check this thread in the morning, then it will be 15 pages long and still going.

bhai jaan.....qadar daan...meharbaan.....this is a legit account by US navy officer. Think of Reddit like a discussion forum (like defence.pk e.t.c) where user submits content. It has one subreddit called "IAmA" where anyone can come and post about himself or any experience he/she had and then users ask questions about it. The users who post AMA are always anonymous (unless it's some celebrity or if someone doesn't want to remain anonymous) just like any other discussion forum. How many of you know about Chogy, CardSharp, SinoSoldier or MastanKhan e.t.c. here personally. Do you know their actual names or where they live? But you can tell from what they write they are knowledgeable members. This is how internet works.

Had it been a fake AMA, users on reddit would have teared it apart!!! There have been instances of fake AMAs which were teared apart by the community there.

And CardSharp rightly said that on reddit, Indian members didn't behave like they are behaving here lol.

Yes that happens on reddit too. And this is another proof that it is legit because I guess users were able to identify who he is or may be he came to know that he can get into trouble for posting all this information public so the OP deleted it. Nothing new here if you are an old reddit user.
Several times it happened that users are able to locate where a person lives or who he is, where he work e.t.c by connecting dots using OP answers so they had no choice but to delete their account and/or replies.

Hasn't the original article been deleted?

The only way to clean an Indian Naval ship is to sink it!

lol nice one!

Anyways the original article was way too biased to be true.

Wikileaks has also shown than American Amred forces personnel think of Indian forces as a very professional force.

This is no rag tag military for God's sake.

It's one of the world's largest armed force.

Its been deleted on the reddit site, but not here ;)

no prizes for guessing why ...lol

I wont be surprised if an idiot(not possible to guess who since there are so many of them) from this forum went and posted that fake IAMA on the reddit site.. Looks like the mods over there have found it not credible and deleted it.. anyway, haters will always hate.. ;)
You have no idea how reddit works. The user himself deleted his account and not the moderators.

Reddit?

Does this website have anything to do with the Reddy brothers?

This is the INS Delhi US navy officer says he went on board and crapped about.

Okay lets hear what another foreigner found on board INS Delhi below .

He was quite apologetic as the interior of the ship was not open for visiting, which was indeed a real pity. When we lacked a tour of the interior, Petty Officer Bahadur offered to bring us around the exterior to compensate.

Shame he couldn't offer an in-depth insight into the ship's interior and how the crew members operate.

The guy seem like some reporter , you need more credentials than that for visiting the interior.

Which was a shame too as we cannot compare the opinions of both. Instead we have one slagging off the ship and the other skimming over the ship's exterior.

Its hardly a holiday camp on a military ship. Perhaps the was expecting 5* treatment because of who he was? I don't think it would have mattered what the ship was like. He had preconceived idea of what he was going to report.

Well i dont think this is the case, PN ships are pretty clean and good from the inside, dont know about the operational standards, but we dont wear steel toe boots, at least i have never seen any in PN, but there are some in Army.

IN could not be surely as described in the OP, but oh well.
