ISLAMABAD: US military officials say Islamabad is pulling its troops out of at least two of the three centres meant to coordinate military activity across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The move comes a little over a week after Nato airstrikes killed 24 Pakistani soldiers at two army posts along the border. The deadly incident seems to have been caused in part by communication breakdowns.

US military officials said late Monday that losing Pakistani liaisons at the border centres was a problem because the whole purpose of the posts was to exchange information about ongoing operations.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

The Pakistani military did not immediately respond to request for comment.

we dont need to share info with those who kill us.

if they are so much after us to get info than why they killed our soldiers.

GOP very good going.what we are doing if we had done this in 2003 than our 8.4% growth of 2005 would still be in action.

but better than never

If the military liaisons presence is not making any difference, and the trigger happy yanks are still blowing us men to bits. Then might as well, move on sit at our posts and take care of our own problems, and let them buggers take care of theirs.

Why the source in these kind of news always has to be anonymous? He did give this news to a news reporter. Tomorrow I could go and grab that news reporter off his neck and retrieve every bit of information about this anonymous entity - why that anonymous official who didn't want his name to be printed in newspaper was willing to give sensitive information to a news reporter in first place, who would ultimately print it in his newspaper. OR it's a good way to cook up your story and tell it to the world, without the need of any verification though - so that your news sells more.
