US forces will continue to go after threats on Pakistani soil: Obama

Or you could just stop backing the Afghan Taliban which is responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent Afghan civilians! Surely that's the safest and most easiest option?

Exactly !! Thousands of Innocent Afghani people have perished at the hands of Afghan Taliban.

How about you stop supporting Afghan suicide attackers who have killed thousands of innocent Pakistanis?

We already know that the Americans are going to do however they wish, but that is not the point of contention. The government and the establishment needs

1. As a concerned citizen, I would want to know how the Americans are able to carry out drone strikes despite our governments disapproval?

2. We spend billions of taxpayers dollars on military equipment. Today, the Americans are violating our sovereignty. Tomorrow, any other nation could do the same. I want to know whether we are allowing the Americans to strike at will, or whether we are unable to do anything about these strikes knowingly.

3. You cannot just shrug off this strike in Balochistan as something minor. You have been doing this for far too long in FATA. This strike is a major concern because the Americans have clearly stated that their reach is the Pakistani soil. You do understand how lose this definition is, right?

I don't care whether the drone strikes are down by 85% or 99%. Even one drone strike without the permission of the government is one too many. Don't try to downplay sovereignty infringement as something minor. Just look at the Iranian response as far as sovereignty infringement is concerned

If your looking for an official stance of FO - They do condemn it so here you got your answer.
we are unable to do anything about these strikes knowingly.

That's the point, you can't do nothing about it as long as ours and theirs bad guys loom around on our soil. I mean you got pretty weak arguments to take on americans and the world. They believe you aren't trustworthy. They believe you have bad guys roaming on your soil. What best you can do is to keep hunting terrorists without discrimination until it's all clean. Simple inverse relationship. The zarbeazb forced them reduce their strikes. That's the only way you got to finally make the frequency zero! I hope you understand.

US forces will continue to go after threats on Pakistani soil: Obama
By AFP
Published: May 23, 2016

HANOI: President Barack Obama on Monday confirmed Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed in a US air strike, hailing his death as an “important milestone” in efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan.

Saturday’s bombing raid, the first known American assault on a top Afghan Taliban leader on Pakistani soil, marks a major blow to the militant movement, which saw a new resurgence under Mansour.

US didn’t notify Pakistan until after deadly strike

“We have removed the leader of an organisation that has continued to plot against and unleash attacks on American and Coalition forces, to wage war against the Afghan people, and align itself with extremist groups like Al-Qaeda,” the US president said in a statement.

Senior Taliban sources have also confirmed the killing to AFP, adding that a shura (council) is under way to select a new leader.

Obama, who is on a three day visit to Vietnam, said Mansour had rejected efforts “to seriously engage in peace talks and end the violence that has taken the lives of countless innocent Afghan men, women and children.”

He called on the Taliban’s remaining leadership to engage in peace talks as the “only real path” to ending the attritional conflict.

Mansour was elevated to the leadership of the Taliban in July 2015 following the revelation that the group’s founder Mullah Omar had died two years earlier.

Pakistan denounces US strike believed to have killed Afghan Taliban chief: FO

He was killed on Saturday near the town of Ahmad Lal in the south western part of Balochistan, when missiles fired from a drone struck the car he was travelling in.

It was believed to be the first time the United States has targeted a senior Taliban figure in Pakistan.

Pakistan, which says it is hosting the Afghan Taliban’s top leadership in order to exert influence over them, has lambasted the United States over the drone attack, calling it a violation of its sovereignty.

In his statement, Obama said American forces would continue to go after threats on Pakistani soil.

“We will work on shared objectives with Pakistan, where terrorists that threaten all our nations must be denied safe haven,” he said.

But the strike could signal a fresh blow for US-Pakistan ties, which have improved markedly in recent years since the killing of al Qaeda founder Osama Bin Laden in 2011.

Who will succeed Mullah Mansoor?

The US has carried out hundreds of drone strikes in the Pakistan, mainly in the country’s border tribal regions with Afghanistan, with leaked documents showing Islamabad had quietly consented, despite publicly protesting.

This time, however, both sides insist Pakistan was informed only after the fact. Leaked diplomatic cables from 2010 had indicated that Islamabad wanted Balochistan to remain off-limits.

The meeting of the Taliban’s Supreme Council continued into its second day Monday, according to senior militant sources, though the group has yet to release an official statement.

A senior Taliban source told AFP the killing had sent shockwaves through the leadership and many were laying low in Pakistan while some had fled across the border to Afghanistan.

“The shura meeting is continuing at an undisclosed location, they keep on moving due to the fear of US drone strike,” the source told AFP
Is it called badmaashi?

Not good enough because we also hear that the government tacitly approves drone strikes. Condemnations and tacit approvals don't go together. Certainly not when ordinary peoples lives are at stake. I understand they aren't valuable American lives, but they are Pakistani lives nonetheless. If you don't care, at least let me care.

I don't need to be lectured by the Americans or the "world" about good or bad guys. Aren't these the same Americans who sponsored the likes of OBL against the Russians during the Cold War? Aren't these the same Americans who keep aiding a warlord regime in Afghanistan which rape boys and dosn't care about the plight of women? Aren't these the same Americans who keep aiding militants and rebel groups in Syria and elsewhere? How about the Americans turning a blind eye to Indian sponsored terror across the border in Afghanistan? Your terrorist is good, but mine is bad? Bad logic.

I don't care about what Americans think about my trust. Who trusts a nation which invaded another country on the false pretense of WMDs, but never found them? Talk about trust.

Like I said, there is no such thing as international support. There is only the will of the strongest and the Iranians have showed this by taking down an American drone..

Pakistan certainly needs to rid miscreants on its border, but cannot be expected to accept drone strikes. Also, the Americans need to make sure that Afghan territory isn't used to kill innocent Pakistanis which is happening on a daily basis. It takes two to tango.

And what do you propose to do? Do a superman special and knock all the drones out. Wait won't that lead to war with USA? No worries. Come on USA, Come on India, Come Isreal. We are going to thump you all.

Obama has stated his challange clearly. That US will strike where it needs to in Pakistan. Now the ball is in Pakistan's court. Do we prepare for war? And do we say " dare try it again".

Taking those drone out is as easy as squatting flies. The problem is what happens after. That would amount to declaring war on USA. So the question is not can we knock the drones out because that is easy. The real question is does Pakistan want a war with USA over the drones?

That is something Pakistan has to decide. So far the pointers suggest Pakistan does not want war with USA over the drones.
But America is at war with Pakistan!! Since 2001. Should Pakistan die a death of a thousand cuts in this 4th generation warfare? Or should she have some dignity? NATO has a mission: de-nuclearize Pakistan at all costs even if it takes decades. Hamid Gul was right: Afghanistan was the excuse, Pakistan the real target.

Unsubstantive bogus claims rejected many a times !!

Just because you say that it is false doesn't make it false. The whole world knows. We have caught Indian spies red handed. What else do you not believe? Your own RAW officials have gone on record to admit that they use terror tactics against Pakistan. I know the truth is a b!tch, but don't deny it.

Pakistan has no power to attack on USA and should not increase tension with them,we have only one enemy in the world, they tried how to increase tension between Pak USA. The exist tension between Pak USA is temporary. We should prepare for the war with this one enemy.
The US cannot tolerate Pakistan being a nuclear weapons state in the long term. She just cannot due to the Zionist influence on her. By the way the US is already involved in a 4th generation war against Pakistan.

Niether do they need your lectures on something you were equally part of, back in 80s - Rather a step ahead of them. You're getting way too off-topic and a little funnier.
But again, Can you do anything about drones? Nope - not a shit! The only way to stop them is to keep going until every single bit of terrorism has been taken care of, Within your soil!
Get over it bro!

It is time we carried out strikes in Afghanistan, this peace loving hippy bull$hit needs to end. time we struck our enemies in that country.
