in 1960-80s(can't remember), more than 200+ unidentified aircrafts were detected extreemly closed to easten china. but when 2 scout planes dashed to the spot, they saw only one. that only one plane was folling all the radar stations and collecting their location info.
as a result, these two things keep happened for quite a long time
1) PRC improved their countermeasure
2) US upgraded their techs and then try again
