What's new

US eyes Port Blair as new drone base

Its a possibility that Rand has proposed, India's approval is a diff. thing.

.
Dont worry not gonna happen.... they tried it on much bigger scale after 9/11 when they approached India to open her ports for NATO supplies and asked for support inside Afghanistan as well...... and they did not succeed.

Any ruling party will be raped apart by all other parties if they even want to attempt to allow foreign militaries to station troops inside India,

And how Indian ports could have helped NATO supplies in Afghanistan? :undecided:

Emotions apart..

Whats are the drawbacks if India does allow something like this ?

The Communists & BJP etc will tear apart the Govt , but what if.. ?

Before drawbacks, we need to know as to what will be the benefits for allowing our base to be used for US drones ?

Arre India dint allow Superpowers to build base when i was infant.

Now its unthinkable to do so. The one trying this will get good 1.2 Bn dicks in mouth. Period

There are none,Andaman Nicobar Islands is India's most strategic asset that will help us keep a close watch of Strait of Malacca. There is no way we are gonna share it with anyone.

request must be considered if US offers similar facilities in Diego Garcia , Guam and japan to indian navy.

I didn't understand one thing..why Port Blair??there is nothing which can help them operation against China.but if they really need the presence, they should try Coco island of Mayanmar. It is in the same region, has airstrip too.

.
Port Blair is the Integral Part of India.............not of US

.
Arre..

I asked first..;):lazy2:

First one is historical. This how India was conquered. Brits put military bases to protect trade. So, do we want to see that happen again (doesn't matter whether US wants to occupy us or not, symbolism matters)
Second one, say US and China had a clash. India gave base to US and after some time, US and China became friends or US withdrew due to internal pressure. What is going to happen to India then?
