Pakistan need to think twice about buying Turkish gunship. It is using American engine. Turkish are no where about to produced a replacement soon. If American can sanction viper to Pakistan. Why would they not sanction engine re export to PA?

The only option left is to buy Chinese gunship or Russian.

top of it USA is blocking turkish f-35 deal . its means even turkey will have problem of US sanction

Sorry, the engine are imported. I don't know where u got your source. The engine are PW and it's American.

Engines are not Americans in T-129 they are from UK and there more MPs of Pakistani origin in UK than there are British Mps

Sir TEI has the TOT long time back

USA has a veto to stop the sales but TEI has the tech to develop their own.

Lol... You seriously do not know how American or British works? You think they are so stupid to let Turkish has the know how to make a good gunship engine? Let me ask you why Turkish brag they have licensed produced American PWF100 engine for their F-16 for many years and yet they could not produced a good engine for their TFX or even produced a own design of their high thrust turbofan. You really think the british and American will easily let u have all the know how? The so called licensed produced are nothing but assembly parts from US exported critical parts. The main core of the engine still need to import from USA with the remaining 70% parts produced by Turkish themselves. But what makes the engine so difficult to produce is the main core or rotorshaft which has to withstand the most critical temperature.

That is why American exercise their influence on their allies. You don't follow their rules and they will sanction u.

The problem is that USA and UK are dependent on many thing on Turkey. Turkey bought the Kazak company and many tech from Turkey is going back to USA and UK. People are saying that USA is going to sanction Turkey the sale of F-35 but what they forget is that Turkey is producing most of F-35 parts which USA needs.

I know that Z-10 was a perfect option for Pakistan because of sanctions and US issues but we have to take things from west as well. Z-10 are going no where but western stuff is also a good opportunity and Pakistan purchasing western equipment also helps China.

Surely this would make front page news in Pakistan and be mentioned in the US press. If it is true then I would say that US/Pakistan relations will die very quick.
If this has happened then I'm afraid the US engine on the T-129 is not safe either.....

No I don't think I know USA has the capacity but shifting thing to USA now will take time. You have to develop an industory and those things take time if USA pulls out of turkey it will send US projects back by at least 5 to 7 years and by that time USA and Russia and China will be on par with each other. Currently USA has only one advantage over China that it started it's 5th gen production early and if US gives China 5 years then China will be ahead.

Usa pressurising pakistan to extend the afghan ceasefire.
Options available are -
1. Do nothing and ask for advance back. Buy from china or russia , but as a poster said , u get what you pay for... unreliability.
2. Extend the ceasefire in afghanistan.

It surprises me when members here with zero experience question their professional armies decisons. Like askng why f16 was chosen and not chinese j10.
F16 Block 52 is a excellent fighter , easily the best fighter plane in the subcontinent at the moment. And it is normally free or subsidised.

In the time of coup US refused to provide trainers to Turkey and yet Pakistan provided Turkey with trainer against USA demand from Pakistan of not doing so.

Bro this is the engine.....The heart of the machine is not made by Turkey, there's no way round that.
