US demand of army operation in NW REJECTED

Mr. Bill... what is your opinion about presence of Indians in Afghanistan and their fixture with northern alliance lords!
Why it took years in declaring TTP a terrorist organisation and why does ISAF host them across the border?
It is obvious that all the training grounds of TTP got to be in Afghanistan so is the financial and logistical support for their sustained operations against Pakistan army and civilians.
There are also hints that ISAF has been trying to instigate civil war in northern Pakistan? Shall we assume that even the SAWAT and FATA show down was sanctioned by US?
Last but not least.... why Pakistan was not notified before opening the flood gates of Sarobi dam?

Sad they will have to leave without destroying Pakistan and Taliban will form government in Kabul and things go back to 2001. End of the story.

The best US can do now is to leave ASAP minimizing casualties of lives and money.

And India of course the diwali in Pakistan is over now. Don't even try packing bags. You guys gota talk with the ISI before we decide your faith in Afghanistan.

I personally want to see Pakistan destroy all the NW Taliban groups. Militancy should have no home in Pakistan.

I hope the refusal is only a "not now", rather a "not ever".

The Afghan government and US are entering peaceful talks with the Taliban.

Its useless for Pakistan army to go after the same people that the world's most powerful army and 7 other nation's troops can not defeat.

Right now, we dont see many suicide bombings in Pakistan's cities as before but once Pakistan army enters North Waziristan you will see the same situation as last year (suicide bombing every week in Lahore and Peshawar) it will be much worse because Afghan Taliban are much stronger than TTP.

This war OF terror has done more harm to both Pakistan and the United States than any good, today even Americans are realizing that war OF terror needs to be ended ASAP.

To me it's a good move. At this time we have some serious concerns on this matter as we are busy in dealing with flood affective areas, people and other internal security problems. we can't afford a new front...and personally i think we should wait and see which scenario comes out in next few months as U.S will exit from Afghanistan these groups will return back to Afghanistan, so why provocate another battle in our home? when you can manage the things in other ways.;)

The United State’s government and military both recognize and respect the sovereignty of Pakistan. We have been persistently focusing on rebuilding our relationship and trust. Therefore, in order to continue in this path, it is crucial to distinguish between demands and strategic proposition offered by the United States. At no time did the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, “demand” any major contributions by the Pakistan Army such as conducting an operation in any integral area of Pakistan. On the contrary, Admiral Mullen has been in clear support of the Pakistani Army in all its efforts to eradicate violent extremists that harm both Pakistan and the U.S. Our increasing military-to-military engagement and cooperation, along with providing more than 400 million in aid, have been our gesture of friendship and good will to the Pakistani government and people.
Admiral Mullen’s words were taken out of context, yes, he did raise concern over the North Waziristan area, yes, he did point to the need, to crack down on terrorists that are shamefully using the innocent people of that area as a shield. Adm. Mullen said in an appearance on The Wall Street Journal's "The Big Interview ", “The danger, not just now but in the future, is this epicenter of terrorism literally in the world, is right there, They know that is something that has to be by and large eliminated." However, strategic propositions such as this one are not demands but rather insight offered to the Pakistani Army so we can better cope and end atrocities in that region. What steps will be taken or not taken in the North Waziristan region is up to the Pakistani government and its people. We recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by the Pakistani government, people, and army in order to regain control of the Northwest of the country and hope that we will continue to strengthen our mutual ties which would result in the annihilation of those who want to turn Pakistan into a terror haven.

Please read the Wall Street Journal and Admiral Mullen’s interview to judge for yourself, and not be deceived by those who want to harm the U.S. – PAK relationship.

There are definitely people both in Pakistan and US that don't want to appreciate a cordial US-Pak relationship, whether WOT or not. And these people are called politicians and media person. Who brainwash the locals.

Pakistan Army cannot keep sending in troops. NW requires at least 100,000 with full air support. Right now entire logistics is shifted for flood relief so it makes no sense for US to even consider asking for operation in NW. What instead they should do is, deliver COIN equipment, from rifles/kevlar to artillery/Cobras.

US has deceived Pakistan in more ways than one.......

I hope you are correct but looking at the time it has taken to delay it. I doubt their intent is just delay. It has been close to a year and that is not small duration.

Do you expect operation in the current scenario? i.e. the army being way overstretched? US hasn't provided equipment to help either.

Pakistanis are progressive people. These safe havens will bring nothing but problems for Pakistan. When the military if freed up from the flood then we need to do an operation like Swat and take them out for good. India is already killing Kashmiri civilians on a daily basis and pulling Army from the Kashmir border will even taken more pressure off India to commit more attrocities against the civilians.

Additional night time equipment, gunships, smart bombs, drones and economic support is crucial to a successful operation.

US should provide equipment needed on lease and take it back when operation is done. That should work, same for bombs, other material.

LOL Concerns.....

We don't want leased weapons... We want our embargoed F16s back... We want choppers which we know will be ours...Its time US chose that is it his own concerns US cares or India's.

this was never our war .............
