Mainland China's 35th subway system opened in Urumqi on 25th October 2018.
Subway Line One is the first line of Urumqi's planned 300+km metro network (2030).
This is also the second metro network in Northwest China after Xi'an Metro.
The next city to join the subway club in this region will be Lanzhou City.
