***Upgradation of T-72 tanks begins in Jaisalmer***

Oh!My bad!Al khalid does have an ukranian aps.So what? The indigenous aps for Arjun mk2 has already been developed.
Lol MK-2:drag: will take another few decades.......till then AK-II would be there.

Your precious al khalid's gun is very weak as compared to Arjun's main gun according to your official website.

The site doesnt have the specs on the gun........ u must be imagining things...........

Pakistan Produces Indigenous 125 Millimetre Tank Gun For Al-Khalid Tank ~ ASIAN DEFENCE NEWS

The Al khalid has a much thinner and weaker armor than Arjun.

It has low profile-hard to hit ...... and more more to weight ratio, agility, manueverability and speed....... while its armour is being modified........ it still out classes t-90 n arjun........
But the biggest drawback of al khalid is the carosal autoloaders. They can't hold the modern long rod ammos

M1A3 on the way?

The autoloader has been ugraded!
Even the DU with around 700 mm RHAe can bid farewell to arjun! Same goes for other armaments.

.But moreover they store the ammos around the crew compartment and if in the battlefield the armor is penetrated(which will definately be)the crew will die an agonising death.

No its not around the crew compartment..... its seperate.... il try to post pics!

till thn look at the quality :

Rajasthan is assigned to Arjuns. So when arjun can beat the crap out of t-90 tin cans then it will sure beat the crap out of another tin can aka al-khalid and sure it will make al khalid immortal by reincarnation.

I don't think that the PA is doing wrong with this tank. Don't forget that IA has 6 times more budget than PA have.

Yes, it is totally true that Arjun is one of the best tank in world. And we can also compare these tanks with American M1 Abrams. I think you are saying that we needed the mass production of these tanks, but you tell me what is the need of mass production of these tanks. Because of these heavy weight, around 60 ton, we cannot place them in LOC and LAC. The area left is only thar desert, but I think their is their is no need to place too many number their as these tanks are not made to tackle with the Al Khalid. For this tank, Al Khalid become a easy target. Short number are also sufficient to tackle them.

Leave the point of Type-99, People's Army not manufacturing these tanks to place them on Indo-China border. They also have lots of fear, because of that they are going with these tanks.

For tackling China and Pakistan on Kashmir, we donot need a heavy tank. We needed a light tank. For their we needed light tank like T-72 and T-90.I think MoD should also start the project of Tank Ex Mk 2. Actually, IA not needed a heavy tank. The heavy number of Arjun only needed in worst case scenario.

Buddy, let me tel you that it does not matter how heavy a tank is,what does matter is the tank's ground pressure.Arjun's ground pressure is much lower than even the 38 ton T 55s.So the terrains you mentioned,Arjun will do better than t90/72s.By the way kashmir valley can't be use for tank warfare, you should have known. The upper pungab is very heavily fortified with deep lines of trenches, antitank ditches, hardened bunkers and minefields on both sides of LOC.So only places left for tank warfare are lower punjab areas and rajastan. Now due to their very low ground pressure(lowest in the world)Arjuns can perform much better than the T 90/72s.There is vey little place along the lac to field tanks, only viable place is the sikim.I hope you got your answer.

Were you sleeping all these days old man?Mk2 will take another decade!!It's already has been developed.
AK is better than arjun-look who is the fanboy now dude.Arjun mk1 has stronger armor, gun and ammos than al khalid still arjun is inferior!!Yeah,in your dreams may be.And al khalid is so manueverable, can it out manuever an atgm or can it outrun a FSAPDS round?I don't think so.You are making yourself a joke buddy.

. . .
why india is upgrading tin cans.to know the reality of tincans just watch the videos of russia georgia war where t-90 s were blown up like tin cans with diwali patakha

if you call being hit by 7 rpg rockets and still remaining in action blowing up like diwali pathakas then yes the t 90 is a tincan

.
Arjun vs AK = no chance for AK, 59 tons vs 46 tons, Arjun has superior composite armour, better gun
T-90 vs AK = AK has a slight edge because of better mobility
T-90 vs T-80 = even
T-72 vs AK/T-90: T-72 inferior but much lower gap after completion of upgrade
T-72 vs T-55/Zarrar: no contest

So overall, big quality edge for India, and a 1.3 times superiority in numbers.

The Indian army thrashed the Pakistani Pattons with Sherman tanks and inferior numbers back in 65. As I said before, not an overwhelming superiority but more like a 1.75 to 1 edge taking into account qualitative superiority of Arjun vs Khalid and T-72 vs T-55. More important to buy some 155mm guns rather than worry about the armour

Yes, it has lower ground pressure than T-90 but not lowest in world. Leopard 2 is the tank which has lowest ground pressure. And as we see M1A2 Abrams, which has 10 ton more weight and which has much higher ground pressure than Arjun, it performs remarkably well in Gulf War. And it also prevents arjun from sinking in sand. But this terrain is not like that, Arjun is not made for mountain terrain, and also because of this IA not perform a single trials in this area. Every time IA perform the trials with arjun only in Thar deserts. And I know the weight is not a big problem. But as you know we donot have well connectivity with our borders in Kashmir and LAC. Transporting their will become a big problem for IA.

He is right John.In a war with Pakistan T 90s will not gonna face RPGs but deadly ATGMs like Kombats, refleks and moreover DU rounds.Even if they survive the atgms they will definately not survive DU hits. You need to know that russians still believe in quantity over quality.

Why you people are underestimating the AK tanks. They are good enough at their place. And don't forget in 65, Pak not defeated because of their tanks. They defeated because, they lacks in strategic warfare.

Man,stop complaining.
Howmany times I have to say that there will be no tank war in kashmir because it simply does not support it.Large number of Sarvatra bridge(carrying capacity of 70 ton) and Arjun specific rail carriages have been inducted. So movement is not a problem anymore.Do some research before posting.
And yeah, only leo 2A6 variant has negligible lower ground pressure than Arjun.
