UPA's Pink Revolution Makes India World's Biggest Beef Exporter

. .
Then "Us" should not slaughter cows or eat it, what is the need to impose it on others? Then how are we different than those religious extremists who are not satisfied with their religious rights only, but they want to snatch yours also?

Oh come on, as long as one does not kill for fun, I dont have a problem with killing animals..... its the most natural thing on earth!

And yeah.... its delicious and necessary as well..... how am I personally supposed to eat 150 gr of protein without meat/fish?

.
or we can make a legislation to stop beef export and to stop killing of cows in all states............
I don't my country cows to be killed for export........we can export many things.....
Why ? Food products derived from beef are considered 'normal' in my state. No one in my state will ever appreciate anyone ever banning their staple food. You can make a legislation in your state..but keep those mits off mine.

Beef was banned in india ??
Many states. But not all.

....because Hindus have meekly been a victim of minority bullying for more than 1000 years. The "minority" have got used to bullying us and Hindus have got used to being bullied.

Hindu's are still waking up, 60 years is not enough to reverse the tragedy of a 1000 years.

Eating beef is not your "right". ....... still if you want to compare Hindus to religious extremists who go around bombing nations and people be my guest.:tdown:

Having sex is also the most naturally thing in the world.....so will you be sending your sister over to my house or should I come over to your house ? I am sure somebody as "liberal" as you would have no problem with my natural need for sex.....

If Indians have figured out a way of getting 150 gms of proteins for the last 6000 years, I am sure you can figure it out too.

Alcohol abuse is also considered "normal" in your state. Abuse of women is also considered "normal" in your state.

It is time to re-educate people in your state as to what is normal and what is not. Considering 55% of your state is Hindus I am sure imparting Hindu religious education makes that action 'communal'.

I think court gave a ruling not to cut, process, or hang any animal in public, these things must be done out of the public eye, yes, it looks ugly.

But remember that plants also are living things and they are cute also!! :P And unlike fruits, you have to kill the vegetable to eat it. :( Just because they cannot run or scream or fight back, killing a plant doesn't become less brutal. :D
Nature has decided that you can kill living beings for food.

Think about a poor villagers with cows, they are profitable as long as they give milk, but after that who will feed them, and if you let them free then they will enter someones farmland and the blame will be on the owner. Selling unproductive cows for meat at least give people some much needed cash.

And you must be knowing the kind of illegal cow trade happens with Bangladesh, they have a big meat processing & exporting industry based on Indian cows, why let them make money by processing our cows when we have to take care of our own rural economy?

Awww!! So the whole idea is to take revenge on Muslims by banning cow slaughter!!! Wonderful!!

Eating beef is not your "right". ....... still if you want to compare Hindus to religious extremists who go around bombing nations and people be my guest.:tdown:

I didn't allow fundamentalist Hindus to decide my rights, eating beef is of course my right, at least in my state.

Having sex is also the most naturally thing in the world.....so will you be sending your sister over to my house or should I come over to your house ? I am sure somebody as "liberal" as you would have no problem with my natural need for sex.....

Ahh!! This is an extreme form of misogyny to compare cows with someone's sister. And the whole comment was so shamelessly uncivilized, you almost sounded like razpak.

If Indians have figured out a way of getting 150 gms of proteins for the last 6000 years, I am sure you can figure it out too.

And who are Indians? Only the veg eaters? Who decided that? Hindus? Do you know that Hindu goddess Kali takes animal offerings, so does Durga and many others? Indians very much eat non-veg.

Alcohol abuse is also considered "normal" in your state. Abuse of women is also considered "normal" in your state.

Try not to bring women to win arguments, they are not "Objects" to help you win a debate.

[/QUOTE]

What is Hindu religious education? Do you want Hindu Madrasas now? Why should we adopt the bad or regressive practices of others? I am against Madrasas also, a school should only be for the purpose of imparting modern education, anybody wants to study religion should do it privately.

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, it seems, was on the mark when he said the only revolution happening in UPA-ruled India was the ‘pink revolution’, a euphemism for the meat business. The country, where eating beef is a sensitive religious issue, has become the biggest beef exporter in the world, beating Brazil.

This is as per the latest meat exports figures from the Ministry of Food Processing. The data shows that India exported 1.89 million tonnes of beef in 2012-2013, which is a 50 per cent increase over five years ago.

Poultry exports have gone up too. The country exported 3.5 million tonnes of poultry last fiscal, a 6 per cent hike over the previous year, putting India in the third place after the US and Brazil.

Figures show that export earnings from meat have touched Rs 21,000 crore in 2012-2013. The major markets for Indian meat are to be found in the US, Europe, the Gulf and South-East Asian countries.

“It is a fact that the government is giving increased attention to introducing international standards in meat production. Our department has played a crucial role and we are happy about it,’’ says an official with the Department of Animal Husbandry.

According to him, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), is out to improve the quality and safety requirements for both the domestic market and the export industry. In the last one year, APEDA has approved 170 integrated abattoirs, slaughterhouses and meat processing plants across the country, apart from announcing subsidies worth `15 crore to the modernizing of abattoirs.

Even the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) acknowledges that the government has played a crucial role in enhancing meat production and export. “While a larger herd supports an increase in beef production, government programmes also encourage production. For instance, the ‘Salvaging and Rearing of Male Buffalo Calves Scheme’ and the ‘Utilization of Fallen Animals’ improved carcass utilization programmes were incorporated in the government’s 11th Five Year Plan (2007-2012) and will also be in included in the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017),’’ USDA said in its annual report.

Uttar Pradesh is the biggest producer of meat, especially beef, while Kerala is the biggest consumer. Cow slaughter is banned in most Indian states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan. It is legal only in Kerala, West Bengal and the north-eastern states.

“Officially, the slaughter of cows is banned and beef production is actually buffalo meat. Here too, the slaughter is restricted to males and unproductive females,’’ explains the Department of Animal Husbandry official.

But he accepts that there are instances of cow meat being labelled buffalo meat only to be renamed once it reaches its destination. When asked about Modi’s allegation about the UPA government’s ‘secret agenda for export of beef’, the official says: “There is no secret. All schemes are announced openly.’’

This is totally against our culture. We should Ban all export of Meat and we should take a lead in propagating vegetarianism.

A really stupid argument to be honest. Beef is universally consumed all over the world except among a few Indian states -- it really is, quite normal. Alcohol is considered normal just about everywhere except in Islamic hellholes. You should ask the Indian armed forces to cut supply of subsidized alcohol to its employees before taking a potshot at the rest of us.

As for the remaining allegations, i cannot be bothered to reply -- the sheer stupidity of it blinds my cognition when i look at it.

. .
It is easier to ban beef than to Migrate to other states.
But how can you ban a staple food consumed by a major segment of population in these select states ? No one's going to stop eating beef in these states just because you guys are butthurt over it.
