UK Parliament motion on Kashmir

Time to submit a resolution in Pakistan Parliament condeming the genocide that British Empire has done across globe for centuries.

And most recently their illegal wars in Iraq, Libya etc.

@Indians: Now Kashmir is no more a bilateral issue?

Well i dont think a debate in the house of commons matters much to either India or Pakistan, It's more of appeasing respective diaspora vote bases in Britain than anything else.. But the status quo never remains, Things like sovereignty need to be respected irrespective of the country, And India should respect this more than others with her own disputed issues on territorial integrity

Investments aside.. Politics take precedent.. Both Indians and Pakistani Diaspora communities are important to British politics

Unlike China or Russia, India has always respected sovereignty of other countries. India considers Kashmir as its own, hence the question of not respecting territorial integrity doesn't arise in case of Kashmir.

Wont argue on a bilateral political issue.. But all i say is territorial integrity of sovereign nations need to be respected.. Especially of those fellow post colonial countries.. The West has vague lines on sovereignty, Excuse to interfere on somewhat neo colonial tendencies.. Last year it was India, today it will be Pakistan tomorrow it can turn around again

What is significant is referring to the Pak held Kashmir by its correct name :

That this House condemns all systematic human rights violations committed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir

"P OK" is no more a bilateral issue, we are fine with that.

Be careful what you guys rejoice about, It's infringement on Pakistan's internal matter today, Not long ago it was the turn of Indian occupied Kashmir.. Do not undermine sovereignty of others because those same people will have no hesitation to come back at you when tides turn

Perhaps a sad day for you. Perhaps not.

This should not even concern us. :coffee: Except earning some cookies on the International Stage for some time.

We know about that more than everyone else.We dont need these so called P-O-K.
But if our neighbour again tries for our valley that we will do the tricks like this again. This is just a symbolic act .

West did a lotsof our Pak friends in earlier decades through intervention in iur internal matters. Now we changed that tide .
They want relation with India and we are asking favours like this .

I guess you mention it with regards to a Sri Lankan handle regarding the Tamil issue...if I am not wrong..on a wider angle..we have no objections to any country discussing human rights violations that are rightfully happening in much of pakistani occupied territories....may it be the Afghan territory..or the Baluchistan territory or the Sindh territory..or the P.OK territory. Their army is running berserk in all of them.

Corbyn is neutral on this issue. He has been a signatory to edm's condemning India on Kashmir too.
----------------------------------

That this House condemns all systematic human rights violations committed in Kashmir; calls on the Government to encourage the Indian government to abolish the Indian Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act which has been pronounced by several UN treaty bodies to be in violation of international law; further calls on the Government to encourage the Indian government to deliver a referendum on Kashmir as promised in 1948 to allow Kashmiri self-determination; and calls on the Government to work constructively with Pakistan, India and China to bring a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Kashmir.

As I said India has always respected sovereignty of other countries. Russia has annexed Crimea and China is building islands and airstrips on SCS by claiming all of it as its own. Except Pakistan may be, no country in India's neighbor could do anything if India do something like Crimea. International community perhaps may put some sanctions on India and forget after sometime. But that is not how Indians are. We respect sovereignty of others. Kashmir doesn't fit this description.

If UK passes something next year against India, it is UK loss and I think none in India will be bothered by it.
