UK is not for 'Tibetan independence'

^^^
^^^^
I want to make it one.

The topic is related to China. Kashmir is related to China.

It is a China topic.

and China is related to India, and India is related to Pakistan, and Pakistan is related to USA and USA is related to whole world...
so lets discuss everything on this one thread only..:pissed:

irrespective of whether media likes it or not, Tibet is an issue pending resolution... it is not a small country which can be taken over by China and everyone forgets about it.

From 1912-1949, the entire world recognized Tibet as part of China. Even britain at the Simla Accord in 1914 said that Tibet was under Chinese suzerainty.

This what America considered the Republic of China's borders during World War 2. Tibet is not shown as an independent country. No country kept an embassy in Tibet or recognized the Dalai Lama as a head of state.

(01) Why We Fight: "Battle of China (ca. 1944) 1/5 - YouTube

The Dalai Lama was opposed by Khamba Tibetans. Khambas had strong links to the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission on Taiwan, not with the Dalai Lama.

Tibet Improvement Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Khamba insurgents supported the Republic of China aka Taiwan and do not support the Dalai Lama's Central Tibetan Administration and reject Tibetan independence. The Khamba Tibetan community on Taiwan is opposed to Tibetan independence.

Tibetan freedom is an event waiting to happen at the opportune time.... its non avoidable, China may try as hard as it likes..

If it was a dead end, I would say there is no need of such a statement...

the fact alone that such a statement is made or required by Chinese to calm their fears, tells you that Tibet freedom is very much on cards and minds of nations, may not be on their lips.
It is more likely to see India in fragment rather than Tibet out of China.

The British sucks us just because China is gonna sell FC-1(JF-17) to Argentina. But I don't think we will give up this business

Hey guys the article is not really about Tibet independence is it more to do with china snub Cameron after he met the dl, due to the british economy Cameron is under pressure to get back on track with relation to china, Cameron is desperately want to visit china this year and for that to happen he has to say what is said in the article

yeah that is so obvious but if EU does that, what will the attitude of the US :pop:

Note the British silence about Independence of Hong Kong.

Greedy brits ... because Tibet has much little economic value compared to HongKong.

Anyway, brits don't determine, when Tibet gains independence.

That is great. Just take all of them so that whatever lamas left in india won't bother us. :)

even Tibetans I met don't care much whether Tibet becomes independent or not they now mostly consider themselves Indians from inside its time to give them citizenship and increase their role in development of India trust me they love India more than some of the communities we have here as official citizens

Actually, they not only want tibet free of non-tibetians but a much larger area, which includes part of Sichuan, Qinghai and etc, all free of non-tibetians.

BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Tibet's unsettled borders

That area could be 1/4 of China territory. Those nutcases want that much land free of non-tibetians.

Isn't that another kind of ethnic cleansing???

Tibet is not going to be independent, Tibetan people will have to learn to live with this fact.

Overall very good display of diplomacy by China.

Not a good move from the UK Govt, it seems a business move but Tibet was never part of China to start with and this will not stop the protests in London like they had during the Olympics.

British public know this is just a business move and Cameron wishes to cosy up with China but this will cost him votes with the liberals

Clearing Tibet of all non-tibetans (Chinese immigrants for instance) is an unreasonable request, IF the Chinese don't mass-migrate to Tibet.

But a reasonable request for Tibetans to the Chinese would be "greater religious freedom".
Allow the Tibetans to restore their monestaries as they see fit (you Chinese should never have gone draconian on Tibetan religion and monestaries, and should NOT have destroyed the majority of Tibetan monestaries, as I believe to have read somewhere you did).

With monestaries and religion to arrange on their own, Tibetans would hate being under Chinese leadership a LOT less, I think.
Plus, it would become a nice tourist-destination. :)
