UK debate on Kashmir a damp squib

.
I never understand what their discussion would yield ........

.
More than one MP pointed out that the British Foreign & Office's latest human rights report said there were human rights violations "on both sides" of the Line of Control. Baker said the House of Commons should not indulge in "cheap condemnation of India". He advocated a need for being "even-handed".

"We should not be too quick to criticize (the Public Safety Act, a preventive detention law in Jammu & Kashmir that triggered the debate),'' Baker said. He cited the "control order" that exists in Britain and has been widely applied in Northern Ireland not dissimilar to the PSA.

. . .
Britians had a behaviour to intervene in Kashmir issues in earlier decades. At that time India couldnt stand against them ,due to USSR support we always escaped from humiliation.
Now world order is drastically changed. Now UK is not in a position to challenge that is why always refrained from debate like this.

Nothing more than vote bank politics for those 3 mps, they have big **** pops in their constituencies. So this is just appeasement.

Then they should come to India & follow Mullahayam of UP/Lallu of Bihar/Owaisi of Hyderbaad last not least Mother of appeasement Khoongress ..... That would be crash course on appeasement politics which would yields votes for them in Britain..........

.
:o::o: Three year old thread based on the same subject.............. Why open reopen this thread, when we already have couple of thread running on the latest uk parliament discussion??????

.
Dont these 30 members have some work to do ??:lol::lol:
In these 30 members only less than 30% were supporting Pakistani opinion while rest of them were against it. That says it all. Our soft power is even too much for them to counter.

.
I think we should give more power to kashmir govt... they should be the one responsible for democracy there.

J&K govt. already enjoys more power than all other states in India .

There is no need for that ....... They should only be given same power as any other state in Indian union .

. . .
this will be a big blow to the pakistani efforts to raise international attention on their kashmir demands , ha ha just shows that how successful our diplomacy has been , otherwise in U.K i guess there are many other issues the brit lawmakers would like to discuss which are of higher priority rather than discussing kashmir issue .

if youre naive enough to think that it has any impact on GROUND REALITIES (in occupied kashmir)

.
So after relentless indian pressure for the kashmir debate not to be bought up in the British parliament the freedom movement scores a victory.
