Don't follow VOA blindly... When other thousands of fighters use Iran/ Iraq route, which is not only open but also facilitated, than it makes no sense to travel Syria via Turkey. Where borders are well guarded.

As the whole world knows,when they lost the south of Syria,they were given the oppertunity to go to the Idlib province by Assads forces.
Now,they are trying to sabotage the Idlib deal made by TR/Russia/Iran,we already killed arrested many of them.

What i stated is a as solid a truth as day and night.

Pakistan is the largest contributor to Syrian war but non of the veterans were ever questioned by our security agencies, like China does.... all this because of that brain washed mentality which i described and those few who are not brain washed are black mailed, harassed and some times even killed.
Same Afghanis who come to Pakistan to kill, are buddies of those Syrian war veteran Pakistanis and their associates..... there's a whole lot of hypocrisy out there to see. Condition is you have to be a free and independent mind.

China has many Stan neighbors, all of them enjoy very very friendly relations with China, it makes no sense that China just randomly picks on Turkey which is far away from China for no reason. China is not the one responsible for the bad blood between the two countries.
