UAE, Pakistan and Mirage 2000-9s
There is talk that lately-appointed Chief of General Staff of the Pakistani Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa intends to reactivate contacts with the UAE to buy the Emirati Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets in favor of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). The following 348-word report sheds more light on the subject and tells what about the Emirati reaction.

If this is true, my guess would be that these would be replacement of Mirage 3/5 for conventional land and sea, and more importantly strategic, strike roles.

If these are even being considered then they must be at bargain prices. In which case they would make a good option in the short term.

Our mirage airframes are exhausted and we don't have a replacement lined up for their role. I don't think the JF-17 fits that role entirely. Does anyone have information on the hours flown or left on the UAE mirages?

I believe they are also compatible with MICA missiles which also makes them potent interceptor/ fighters.
No doubt the idea is to replace Deltas with Delta, since they are Mk2-9 category, they wouldn't require much in the way of upgrades with reportedly very low flight hours logged.

lol, this aircraft has been out of production for a decade and India already has an upgraded variant of it.

We have over 150 mirage 3/5 operational and they have been out of production for long time. So what is our point?

If it is the case then let's hear the French/Dassault word as well that we cannot pursue such large buy of another Mirage Type without after sale support/service. By looking at track record, India must have a condition for France in Rafale Contract, mentioned to stop such further sales to Pakistan or who knows.

i dont think French will now come to under pressure from india after what they did wth rafale order..

Mirage will not be the alone offer to french, if M2k come it will be with the package for JF-17.

and for those asking why not J10 to 1000. well china first and then pakistan, so either you wait half a decade or more for a first pcs or not...

And for china, it's like any country with interest, today she loves you and tomorrow maybe not... so same thing as french and co, if you don't build one in your own country you will always suffer from supply

I haven't read the full article yet, however until recently there were some hostile voices coming out of UAE towards Pakistan, but allegedly during this meeting, much was said and discussed. ( Check the body language)...If UAE decides to go for the Rafales, then it also has influence over France.

That's a Qatari Mirage, there were reports that Pakistan is also negotiating for these aircraft.

LOL who told you That??? we already signed the Deal for 36 J-10 in way back in 2009 but later canceled due to fincial restrains so we won't have to wait for a decade or so
