Third rate choose Tejas, unfortunately yes.
First rate asmani fauj choose JF-17 (whatever name is) made of steel and does had night flight capability.
Also try to pick all second hand fighters from OLX to keep the standards high, from every country.

Moral of the story. better to be third rate air force than asmani fauj

Aluminium alloy is frame of block 1. You people like to make out that its made out of corrugated steel. Does the jf 17 radar not work at night?

No it isn't. UAE doesn't give a shit about the Tejas, they can get better fighters from other nations.

Honestly, I don't understand why India is even continuing with the Tejas project at this point. They'd be better of with taking what they learned, and starting a new project.

Aoa

Without taking away from the capabilities of Tejas, one has to look at this from a non-Pakistani perspective.

Unlike Pakistan, which struggles with finances so has to get the best solution it can afford, the Arabs, who don't face any existential threats from outside and have a lot of money to spend, use their buying power as a means towards getting political leverage.

The Saudis didn't buy hundreds of billions of dollars worth of weapons because they needed them. We saw the power of that deal with Trumps initial reaction about the issue with the murder of khashoggi.

The Arabs may choose to buy Tejas, and Tejas maybe a great fighter jet for its price and class, but the Arabs won't be buying it for its technological capabilities.

If I had to guess, I think it may have more to do with the India-Iran relations than any other thing.

The basic Mk1 will be made lighter and upgraded with an AESA radar and possibly Meteor, so it's good enough to replace the Mig-21 Bison. 80-120 jets are planned.

The next version called Mk2 is being made to fulfil the IAF's MMRCA requirements for single engine aircraft. And the IAF is interested in buying more than 200 of these jets.

So the Tejas has gone well beyond what it was planned to be. It now meets the IAF's requirements.

If the GCC nations fail to buy Tejas, we may end up selling it to the Iranians with an Indian engine. This is a frightening prospect for the GCC due to the size, location and importance of India to the Middle East.

UAE ‘interested’ in HAL-made light combat aircraft Tejas

The issue was discussed between defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the UAE’s minister of state for defence, Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falacy, on Tuesday.
India and the UAE are planning to expand their joint military training with a focus on improving desert operations. Keeping this in mind, the UAE has shown a keen interest in Tejas, the light combat aircraft made by HAL, government officials said.

The issues were discussed between defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the UAE’s minister of state for defence, Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falacy, on Tuesday. He is on an official visit to India and will return after visiting the facilities of defence PSUs, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), on Wednesday.

The UAE minister will be in Bangalore on Wednesday to visit the HAL facility, where he will be shown Tejas. “The UAE has shown interest in the Tejas,” said officials.

Even Sri Lanka, Egypt and Singapore have evinced interest in the indigenous fighter jet. But HAL will first have to meet the demands of the IAF. It is trying to meet IAF’s demand for 123 Tejas. The IAF is also looking at inducting more than 200 Tejas Mark 2. However, the projects are heavily delayed.

IAF chief, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, earlier this month pointed out that HAL has lagged behind in the deliveries of several frontline fighters such as Su-30s, Mirages and the LCA.

The UAE minister will also visit the IAF’s Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment, which flight tests aircraft, airborne systems and weapon stores prior to their induction.

“During their meeting, both ministers discussed a range of defence cooperation issues and agreed on priority areas for cooperation,” read a statement issued by the defence ministry.

We have first to get 40 MK1 and 83 MK1a for IAF then only dream of selling it to any one else that inclued owr navy :sarcastic:

as for capabilities Tejas MK1 with a 98% carbon composite skin & 45% carbon combosites and lithium-alluminium alloy body (almosr 1/3rd RSC of Mirage2000) and a 4 chanell DIGITAL FLY BY WIRE & veru veru potent EL/M 2032 MMR Radar with Israeli HOBS (DASH 3 HUD & HMDS) with indo israeli unified RWR+EW+ECM called Mayawee suite with PYTHON-5 & R73 #WVR & DERBY & I DERBY ER # BVR combo with LIETNING 3 G3 as LDP and Griffin & Paveway 2&3 class LGBs & PGMs + OGOBS

if baised MODS & ADMINS of PDF have stomach to listen LCA Tejas MK1 IOC has been tested and intigrated and already in induction as Squad #45/Flying Dagger with cabalities that are not even on JF-17 BLK II and it wants to have on JF-17 BLK III and JF 17 B forget what will be cababilities of LCA Tejas MK1A :sarcastic:

Because it's where all started for us and we have to go ahead alone

The LCA Mk1 sucks. It's no different from the JF-17 Block 2.

The Mk1A is adequate as a Mig-21 Bison replacement, but it won't suit UAE's tastes.

So I'm betting the UAE will be particularly interested in the more capable LCA Mk2, which is a Gripen E equivalent.
Which is still on paper?

India might not sell these to Iran. We should not damage out relations with israel

Mk1A is not on paper, although Mk2 is. And both planes will be a reality very, very soon.

In case HAL is allowed to set up a fourth LCA line, then production can be ramped up to 39 jets a year very quickly. This can free up production for exports.

By the time LCA will be allowed for exports, we won't need military technology from Israel.

Even your third class air force rejected this piece of junk

Over a 100 operational in front line sqaudrons....ho2 many tejunks have bben produced. And regard8nf olx....thats where your kind look for hookers as you cant get women other than through rape

As my friend from IAF says... some people feel proud in travelling in a SECOND HAND NANO car, while some feel uncomfortable in brand new Honda City as they love the comfort of Audi and Merc...

Money, requirement, option and AAUKAT... plays a big role...

You guys should feel happy by believing that India is wasting its time and money on Tejas...
