Our friend posted today saying that 054A production has confirmed stopped at 30th units. Next 20 units to be built will be 054B.

Note that there are 25 ships of various 053 class still in service today, which will be replaced by last few units of 054A scheduled to be commissioned this year and the next, and the new 054B.

Urgently need to be replaced are

The number of 054A is likely to stay in 30. 054B may be the most equipped frigate in the future.
To match the carrier battle group with the 055 destroyer. The performance of the frigate must be improved.
5000 tons full load drainage, 48 vertical launchers. Maybe there's a small phased array radar.

It should be 054A, according to the Chinese media. 054B hasn't appeared in public yet, and I don't know what the progress is. 054A and about 3 are being built
