In 2010 while visiting farnborough airshow,i saw JF-17 which was a pleasant surprise. I didnt know much about the plane back then,and Google took me to PDF when i searched for details on the plane.
In fact most of my google searches about any weapon system i saw a Farnborough 2010 took me to PDF.
Thats how i joined here.
Initially i didn't have much clue of what to do here,and i used to write 'one liners' and open threads trying to discuss defense technologies,but such threads never attracted many comments.
Then i tried opening threads on news items,specially social and political matters and such threads are almost always a super hit.
As an expat Pakistani this forum became my window into Pakistan and Pakistani mindset.
Every important Pakistani news gets posted here and the discussions tell me what Pakistanis think abot their country and abroad,and what the rest of the world thinks about Pakistan.
This forum also became my top source of reading world news.
I PMed some members here who were good commenters and from UK and some are now my real life friends..
Its funny when i am visiting one of them or one of them visiting me.
We are discussing current affairs and technology over a cup of tea,while our wives give us a weird look,suspecting our mental health and go to some other room as they either cant understand or not interested in much of what we talk about (may be one of the main reasons of next to no women on this forum).
Anyway, i thought i will follow suit and open a thread for myself as i am in the 5 figures now after writing 10,000 super dooper,ultra high quality comments
