What's new

Two War Trophies in China military museum, u should know

china lost 4300 men to get that flag vs 1000 american soldiers… also americans were out numbered.
nothing special.
america is still better and will remain better then china for the foreseeable future.
The Americans had air support, lots of it. It is not as simple as 1000 US casualties versus 4,300 Chinese casualties. Being able to overran well-fortified and well-supplied US positions was quite a feat.

.
is this the tank which was captured during Sino-Soviet Border conflict in which these tank got hit by some ATGM and fell into Ussuri river??

Yes, it is.

You'd be surprised what you see in Japanese military museums, buddy. :)

Altar statues of the Lingyin Temple (Temple of Inspired Seclusion) from east China's Zhejiang Province

Its in a Japanese museum now for posterity's sake.
GOD, u took a whole Temple from China ?!

My friend, i know there will be argument when i opened such thread. U see that Lingyin Temple was taken from Chinese Folk not belong to Chinese Army, maybe Japanese soldiers defeat Chinese Army and took the Temple in Lingyin but it's not a military trophy.

U.S.A 31st Infantry Regiment has 3,000x American soldiers, pls read Wiki link.

U r right, China People's Volunteer Army lost more Chinese soldiers to defeat U.S.A in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, but we still won the battle and captured the only U.S.A Regiment Flag.

If u feel nothing special, just tell me in this world is there 2nd U.S.A Army Flag in any foreign military museum ? It called Army Honor.

Of course, we know now the U.S.A still better than PLA but Chinese soldier has their own Army Honor during Past Wars and captured the only valuable war trophy from U.S.A. The only Army Flag, right ?

In BeiJing military museum, they have U.S.A M4、M46、M48 tanks captured from Korea War, but there's nothing can be more valuable than a U.S.A 31st Infantry Regiment Flag. :coffee:

This is one of our trophy

We wish him become US president, then he'd be the first US president, saved by a Vietnamese peasant and ever been prisoner in Vietnam. This trophy was returned to USA and continue to do his great work to support Vietnam.
Recently, he promoted the ease arm ban of lethal weapon to Vietnam

Just ur opinion, if they love Vietnam so much as u said. They should do that thirty years or fifty years ago.

And past thirty years, i didn't see what changed inside Vietnam, Vietnam-U.S relationship made VN Stronger & Rich ? What benefits got from the U.S, prepare ur Money to buy weapons from Made in U.S to instead of Made in Russia ?

Didn't Pete Peterson or John McCain tell Vietnam that U.S supply is FREE like treat to Philippines, Israel or military aid like Turkey, Egypt etc ?

The relation wasn't build in 1 day, 30 years ? you're wrong.

I shall consider visiting this museum someday. 8-) BTW, the M48 didn't see service in the Korean War.

It was hit by an RPG-2. :P

There's a another significative Trophy inside BeiJing military museum, a USSR T-62 tank captured by Chinese soldiers in Sino-USSR border conflict. But a tank trophy is too normal, i didn't add it.

But at the time China captured the tank, it was one of the most advance tank the USSR had...or at least one of their newest weapons at that time.

Its just like American soldiers keeping IJA's regimental colours after a battle.

We don't have clamoring on Japanese side requesting them back.
This reminds me of an issue about the "Balangiga Bells" but if you want to know more about, it can be discussed in other threads.

Maybe, but T-62 just a weapon and weapon easily can be captured on the battlefield. Some Royal items or Army Honor is not simple to capture, it's more significative trophy especially from U.S.A

I never heard of the Balangiga Bells, i would love to know more about it, my friend. Can you start a thread on it?

Yes, it is.
