Featured Two more squadrons of Rafale fighter is under consideration

Su 30mki with missile range 110+ is more than enough for our Western side from any threat.. And, coming days missile range should be over 150+.
Then why did your chai wala PM cry. "If we had Rafael the situation would be different".
Now you will come back with a fantastic excuse with a fantastic cup of tea 🍵

If it's in their control, they would like to buy 1 Rafale, 1 SU-30, 1 Teja, 1 Brahmos, 1 battery of s-400 for each and every Indian only to realize that it still wasn't enough.

You are right...!
India will retire all Mig 21s, Jaguars after getting these rafales.
So IAF will have Su 30, Mig 29, mirage 2000, rafales and LCA.

So you mean 2 Russians, 2 French, and 1 mixture of equipment from more than 10 countries and an effort of over 5 decades.

Great combo.

Navy is going for F/A-18 Super hornets. Rafales do not fit on INS Vikrant's elevators.

F/A-18 Super Hornets are already being tested.
Rafale:

  • Length: 15.27 m (50 ft 1 in)
  • Wingspan: 10.90 m (35 ft 9 in)
  • Height: 5.34 m (17 ft 6 in)
  • Wing area: 45.7 m2 (492 sq ft)-

F18 Super Hornets

  • Length: 60 ft 1.25 in (18.31 m)
  • Wingspan: 44 ft 8.5 in (13.62 m)
  • Height: 16 ft 0 in (4.88 m)
  • Wing area: 500 sq ft (46.5 m2)

Seriously where you people come from? At least do some research before making you baseless analysis. Rafales are much smaller compared to F18 yet you claim that Rafale cant fit in Vikrant's elevators but F18 does.

F/A-18 Super Hornet wings will fold.

F/A-18 Super Hornet wings will fold.

You do know foldable wings merely help increase storage capacity and has nothing to do with lift capability of aircraft carrier. Even above deck F18s are kept with their wings folded which allows more space for flight ready aircrafts. Only reason for not choosing Rafale is cost and second it is simply better plane than rafale nothing to do with foldable wings. Lastly US has been eager to move manufacturing of fighters in India something French refused.

F/A 18 Wings will fold hence will fit in the INS Vikrant elevators while Rafale needs to be enhanced to implement foldable wings which will increase the cost of Rafales further.

Boeing has already been testing F/A-18 for STOBAR to fulfill the Indian Navy requirement.

72 Rafales (Airforce)
110 F-15EX (Airforce)
57 F/A-18 Super Hornets (Navy)

Looks great.
Do I need to remind you how much Qatar paid for just 36 F15 QA ... EX will cost even more and 110 of those with 36 additional Rafael and 57 super Hornets that's more than 50 billion usd good luck paying that to uncle sam ....

I’d rather doubt it, since the margins are basically non-existant.
The INS Vikrant has 10 meter wide elevators, designed for the MiG-29KUB which has a folded wingspan of 7,5 meters giving a margin of more than 1 meter in each direction. The SuperHornet is 9,32 meter giving a margin of 34 cm in both directions which is way below acceptable.

Geez I really don't know why India has a weird fascination with being robbed in broad daylight by some foreign country.

If they spend that much money on acquisition how will they built their own?

I think buying more Rafales is a terrible idea but you have to admit it is still much superior than constructing flying coffins like the Tejas.
