ORHAT: Two personnel of the Indian Air Force (IAF) were killed after a microlight aircraft crashed in Jorhat in Assam on Thursday. The aircraft was on a routine sortie when the crash took place. Reports suggest that the two were riding microlight plane Virus SW80.

The crash happened soon after the aircraft took off from Jorhat air base around noon. Both the pilots were reportedly Wing Commanders of the IAF.

There are no details as yet on how the mishap took place. A court of inquiry has been ordered in connection with the crash.
The wreckage of the aircraft has been sighted near Sumoimari village near Majuli river island.

Microlights can be unreliable and unsafe especially in strong winds.

What efficiency, looks like this man is searching india and news all day long, and tags his friends very same moment.
Don't worry, we are not going to make fun of this accident and try to analyse what happened.

Neither of us can control the course of this or any thread.
Almost all thread end up in mud slinging and abuse of each other, mainly india at receiving end.

Try haldi and doodh it is good for internal wounds.

india at receiving end.
India always at receiving end but never acknowledge.

The picture above is not that of the Virus. IAF selected the virus as the standard ab-initio trainer. Someone should go to jail for that. They have ordered a couple of hundred of those planes from the Czech Republic. Who uses ultralights to train Air Force pilots! Nothing but unbridled corruption and total disregard for the lives of their own men.

Well we will try our best to keep it on course. For trolls there are moderators. Press the report button. I'm right now thinking in terms of technical issues. I have flown in a lot of microlights and powered gliders so it is of my interest.

Dost please be kind on him ... we want to have a learned discussion. He is just expressing his apprehension. We want good members from both sides to contribute and learn.

dont post before knowing anything.

These planes were not acquired for pilot training but for NCC and to chase away birds at air fieldas Well s for adventure sports.
You also have a good point.

The aircraft was an SW80 microlight worth $105,000.
