Bangladesh going to purchase two more ex Chinese navy frigate. Navy official already inspected the frigate ahead of the purchase. The transfer will be hot transfer joining directly from plan service to Bangladesh navy with just repainting and changing level to English .

Picture in the link is Type 053H3 frigate, as of now there're 10 ships in PLAN active service, so hot transfer of 2 ships to BN is possible. Or could it possibly be Type 054 frigate? There are exactly 2 in active service now.

Yes BD is actually looking for type 54 with TOT and locally built. Chinese engineers are already working on our Chittagong Dry Dock for modernization and expansion.
This 053 purchase probably in urgent need to back recently procured submarines up.

i read and saw picture of burmese navy's stealth frigate they built in home with chinese technical assistance. but we have more ship building knowledge than those burmese jingos for thousands of years.....

Bangladesh going to license build 056 in the KSY. The next is 054 in Chittagong Dry dock.
We are not in a hurry. Burmese and BD plays in different league.

ah but here's the thing, does a very expensive DDG help with "freedom"? to go into more detail, who exactly threatens your "freedom" and would the amount of DDG's you can buy prevent them from taking your freedom if they choose to. moreover, what are you giving up to buy the DDGs since money isn't infinite.

those are roughly th in-house production costs, exports will naturally cost more

the ENTIRE defence budget of bangladesh is like 3.6 billion

so you can have a entire fleet of 2-3 modern DDG's and then have no money for the army, no money for the airforce, no money for subs, or anything else.

Defence budget is like around 4 billion US dollars when arms imports are added. Remember that GDP is forecast to grow around at least 7% per annum till 2030 at least.

Type-052D will be like around 500 million dollars US for China to produce as the Type-055 is around 750 million.

BD could have a Navy with around 4 modern DDGs and 8 modern FFGs by around 2030.

It is not a case of building a military that can stop a more powerful adversary under all cicumstances, but making the cost of an attack very costly that they will only do it under the most extreme circumstances.

yea. not a chance the 052D is only 500 million, and not a chance the 055 is 750 million, china has lower costs than the US but not THAT much lower especially considering the cutting edge tech used in these ships.

you wanna make it costly for a enemy? subs, missile, basically anti-access weapons, fight the enemies weakness, whereas the DDG's would be facing their strengths.
