well in my view kyrgyzstan and tajikstan dont have real army , tajikstan use russian army to protect the country among central asian countries only kazakhistan uzbekistan and turkmenistan has army and their army actually were the former soviet army among these three turkmenistan use Military doctrine of using small but elite force so most of her military equipment remain unused btw turkmenistan dont have balenced army for example turkmenistan have handful of helicopters or their navy is weak or they dont have scud missile / s400 systems but they have good number of tanks / IFV and jet fighters 300-350 other weakness of turkmenistan army is that they dont have effective radar and their military base designed to attack iran this dangerously leave the other parts unprotected they should close some base and build new bases in other place

uzbekistan have good air force it's balanced and they have 30 million pop but kazakhistan has largest standing army and elite force they have most advanced military equipment

so i say kazakhistan army is the strongest army in central asia

ofc this is wrong for turkmenistan it's leave turkmenistan dangerously open to attack ,they have russia in north 80 million iran in south 30 million uzbek in east and 15 million kazakh in the north (btw kazakhs are ok ) , some may use force to enforce their political will over turkmenistan they must buy some new weaponry and make a balanced army similar to Azerbaijan if they are able they must sign military alliance with azerbijan both country need each other both of them fear the threat of russian and iran turkey should watch over them from distance

i wouldn't say that brother they have rapidly has military exercises kazakhistan republican guard are one of the most combat-rdy units in the world i ill put some video and pic from their exercises

Even if you are politically neutral you cant leave your security to others goodwill, Switzerland was armed to teeth in WWII, Alps are full of Bunkers and Air defence weapons, every single citizen had a rifle at home from Army, even Hitler didnt dare to invade Switzerland while he wanted to unite German speaking countrys (Germany/Austria/Switzerland)
Switzerland has a population of 7 million but bunker capacity for 10 million.

Building up on Brutas question regarding the strongest military's in C Asia I would also like to know whether there have been any military engagements in which C Asian countries have participated? Its all good having great equipment but is the Turkmen military for example battle tested?
