Turkish President Arrives in Pakistan

Is Erdo's visit linked to an internal political drift in Pakistan since an opposition party I suppose is boycotting Erdo's upcoming speech in Pakistani parliament to protest your government?

Ermmm.. Not really.... Erdogan was invited by President...he has come with a large delegation, including his military chief... Turkish and Pakistani military chiefs had a bilateral meeting too... Erdogan is addressing the parliament, as he has done previously in his earlier visits too..... But since PTI, is boycotting the parliament already, so they are continuing the boycott...which they they shouldnt have done, in my opinion....

Are u not happy with Erdogan's frequent visits to Pakistan? Why is it so? I get this feeling from your posts...How is it being anti nationalist? Sorry, if i misunderstood you.....We feel happy to host him, every time, as leader of our brotherly country...

To all our Turkish friends. PTI and Imran Khan hold Turkey in the highest regard - however internal politics has created a unfortunate situation but that situation should not be used by Turks to conclude anything as regards PTI or Imran Khan. President Erdogan holds Imran Khan in high regard and vice versa.

Judging by his looks, he seems like a secular politician..if I were a "just reply the post, the rest dont matter" guy...

A warm welcome Mr. President.... Welcome Home....

You are right however, the concerned party other officials have somehow told the leadership that it is not about internal rift but the welcome to President so most probably going to attend if not then, they already made it clear that will meet Mr. President outside the Parliament.

No... Turkish ambassador said, ttht its not possible to arrange a meeting seperately with Erdogan for PTI..... He requested PTI to review the boycott of this session.... But PTI, still refused... Very unfortunate.. PTI should have attended this session, atleast

I believe he's somewhat secular but environment in Pakistan mean he have to backtrack on lot's of things to please certain section.

Pak-Turk Axis is developing. There is a growing strategic convergence and understanding on the joint role in the ME.

Sino-Turk Strategic understanding is taking shape. It will only grow hence forward.

CPEC is not just a road... its the cross-road of all the empires of Eurasia...and in present context it is the glue to hold the emerging New World Order.

So, Pak Brothers, must not just see it as energy and transportation project. What is behind CPEC is far more exciting than what appears on the surface. Learn to percieve, please.

What is the need of the hour is mutual interdependence between Turkey and Pakistan... in socioeconomic, technology, poltical, cultural and defence sphere.

Turkey will join CPEC and Turkish companies will set up shop in Pakistan. This is a given.

I do strongly recommend a joint Turk-Pak Development Bank under the supervision of two states. Later others can join. Arabs will need to dole out some huge funds to the new security providers.

For Eurasia to truly become the World Island both Pak and Turk must be the Great Gates to keep it safe. Both are pivotal states.

I do look forward to see some across the board and strategic agreement or hints there of; other than warm platitudes of brotherhood and stuff. Time for hugs and sweet photos is over. Actions, please.

Time to do Great and Outstanding Things. A Strong and Prosperous Turkey is in Pak's strategic interests. And of course, the other way round.

Both Civilisational States along with Sino-Rus backing can change the future strategic architecture of ME.

All that is required is strategic Vision and planning... no plans...but planning.

All the Best to Sino-Pak-Turk Friends... may you write the History of Great Future together.

But Iran is one puzzel... I can not understand it yet. Difficult to percieve which direction they want to go. Difficult.

secular politician
Well there is secularism and there is secularism. After 4 decades of peddling religious bigotry in Pakistan, there is such a large percentage that has become intoxicated by mullahs - therefore for any outsider like Imran Khan (who was a sportsman) to enter politics on secular agenda would never get anywhere.

However IK's life has been about as secular as you can get. In 1980s I think he chased and scored every celebrity female from Hollywood to Royalty. He was always in thick of action and even married a Jewish billionaire's daughter Jemima Khan. But to get anywhere in conservative Pakistan you have to adapt to the local conditions. Your not going get far by being a party playboy.

Not at all, I will always be glad to have better relations with Pakistan. Heck, even my first ever interaction started with Pakistani cadets. But they are no longer present at the academy I suppose, maybe in War College.

It's just that just like Pakistan prioritizes its diplomatic capabilies with regards to China and Turkey and in most cases it is China, bcz you guys have every right to follow what's best for you I am in no position to question that. We have this as well. In Turkey's case when the supplier point of view is excluded, it is Azerbaijan and Pakistan. The case is like as T123456 said, whether it's an utopia or not our final stage with them is total unification by all means.
AKP (Team Erdogan) never have followed nationalist policies but rather religious sectarian ones which basically means suicide in our geography. We all know that in reality, Pakistani-Turkish relations are never based on religion, at least for the perspective of the majority of our public and the Turkish State.

Back to the topic, I believe (from open sources) we have reached the maximum for bilateral military/defense cooperation, ONLY for the time being and the current state of defense industry capabilities of both nations.

We need to shift our focus. Europe is in decline and China has excellent relations with Pakistan that she would enjoy this seat in a vital role to assist Turkey to expand even further in Asia whereas we, respectively can provide the diplomatic influence Pakistan may need in Middle East and Balkans. These are the regions that still hold a huge importance globally apart from a South Asia reality.

It is a state visit... To tell you briefly, Pakistani prime minister is facing corruption charges, and he is facing a case in Supreme Court, on tht...ironically, tomorrow is also a hearing of tht case.... Pakistan tehreek e insaf PTI, the opposition party is a petitioner in tht case, against Pak Prime Minitser ... PTI has boycotted from all parliamentary sessions, since PM is facing corruption charges, and they dont accept him as PM anymore... Pres Erdogan is on a state visit to Pak, on invitation from Pak President.... Erdogan will be addressing Pakistani parliament, as he has done previously too... But since PTI is alteady on a boycott, of parliament, so they are continuing the boycott...PTI, held a meeting with Turkish ambassador, recently, stating tht we hold Turkish President in high regard, we will like to hold a sperate meeting with Turkish president, as we are on a boycott to parliamnt.. Turkish ambassador understandably, said tht its not possible to arrange a seperate meeting with Erdogan for PTI, and he requested PTI to review their decision... But unfortunately PTI stuck to its original decision, stating tht we have taken a stand against Pak PM..and we cant change tht.... In my and almost all Pakistanis opinion, PTI should have changed their decision..

Very true.. This would be win win for all three of our countries...

Is your President non-partisan?

no .... He is not so much active in Politics though his political background is from Pakistan Muslim League (N) same as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who actually lead the that faction/political party .....

Is Erdo's visit linked to an internal political drift in Pakistan since an opposition party I suppose is boycotting Erdo's upcoming speech in Pakistani parliament to protest your government?

no ... but its believe the ruling party is going to use his visit for internal political millage .... & PTI was not boycotting the Erdogan visit (or his speech) but they are boycotting the parliament from last 1or 2 months so attending the the Erdogan speech in Parliament will mean end of their boycott ....

lol

An isolated president vising an isolated country, what is next Kim Jong-un?

Your presence in this thread is unwanted crackhead:) Who the hell are you to lecture us when your country means diddlysquat:) While Pakistan is growing in power and making new friends, Afghanistan is yesterday's news. But don't worry soon the GHQ will teach your country a lesson it will never forget. We control your lands and can do whatever we want...and their's nothing you can do to stop us:)
