Freedom speech is nice and all, but that shouldnt mean that foreign mainstream media broadcasts only one perspective of a situation, as if they have a purpose, an aim to make things look even more negative to non-Turks. Both pro-govt Turkish tv channels and certain western media channels were not honest on presenting a balanced image of the situation to their own audience.

Nonetheless i strongly believe that certain western media groups and co seek to harm Turkey through negative media marketing. It's laughable how staunch pro-democracy western countries allowed the pkk to exist there and get labeled in a milder way in their media, how they keep presenting the armenian 'genocide' case in their favorable way and now they also tend to draw the image that majority of Turkey is protesting. As for that cnn guy, who knows he did it on purpose by getting so close to the police, maybe not, who knows. Its dissappinting that some fellow Turks dont see these provocations from western media, yet put all the blame on Turkish police or govt.

You never see them covering any issues in the EU or US from the perspective of the people. Such as Greece, they won't tell the actual perspective of the people.

When it comes to nations they perceive as enemies they will give the perspective everybody wants to hear.

People should Google videos how occupy movement was beaten down in US. They want to start anarchy in Turkey but in US they have zero tolerance towards occupy movement. People should see it in context. Not black and white.

I don't live in Turkey but when I was in Istanbul I saw that there were hippies and drunkards. They don't have political goal and vision. And it would be wrong to give in to their demands every time they disagree and start going on the street. Country will turn into a car without a driver. If you want to express your mind you will have to do that within the window of democracy. I'm not Erdogan supporter. Also not gezi protestor. Gezi protest was honest movement but it got infiltrated by foreign interest.

This retarded intervention by the police in the middle of a live broadcast made Turkey look bad 100 times more than the report itself could ever make. But its the government's police after all, not the people's.

None of you come close to mullahs standards. They captured Canadian-Iranian reporter, Zahra Kazemi, put her in jail, raped her, then killed her by hitting her head to rocks, then buried her, covered her grave with concrete, and poured acid on her dead buddy.

where did it happen ? :o:

that is very shocking :fie:
As long as brutality is concerned, no one can even come close to mullahs. The hilarious point for me is that mullah followers are mocking wahabis for being brutal, while they are 100 times worse than any other human being.

Nice Title. I Like it. :lol:

This shows how anti-AKP/Turkey CNN has become. I believe Turkey is going on the right path.

I thought the Turkish police should have done more. If they were Arab police they'd rape him in the behind with no regrets. :D

Lmao! :devil::chilli:

What's funny about that? Police scared of reporting?

What was he detained for, he had his passport/press card?

On a funnier note, when he says "which channel" I thought he said "Bitch come on" :lol:

You blame the police, but do we know the cause for such a move from the police? Do you think they just wanted to have some fun and picked at this specific cnn guy? There were (foreign) journalists during last year's protest too and they did their job without getting manhandled, right? If im wrong correct me. So, the reason for this guy getting manhandled could be that they came too close or maybe they didnt have permission to broadcast at that spot. It's sad that people immediately blame the police and the govt without hearing the motives and intentions of both (cnn and police) parties.
